There are days when sport becomes more than competition it becomes compassion in motion. Our Play for a Cause was exactly that.

What started as a simple open play with one goal in mind to help one of our sponsored scholar athlete, Jhuniel Narvas, who recently lost his home turned into a meaningful reminder of how powerful a united community can be.

Although some players were unfortunately unable to make it due to schedule changes, the event still became a success. Because success was never measured by attendance alone, but by the hearts that showed up, the generosity shared, and the financial support raised to somehow ease the burden of one athlete who needed help during a difficult season.

This event showed that pickleball is more than paddles and points it is people lifting people.

We would like to sincerely thank Pickle Studio, especially Ryan and Bryan, Jorge for the support and generosity in helping make this possible.

To our The Kitchen Paddles family and members Josh, Bryan, Francis, Kristelle, thank you for showing up with kindness and purpose.

Special thanks as well to Manila Pickleball Club founder Kuya Ross, and to our beloved Paddlemates Pickleball Hub for extending your support.

To everyone who joined, donated, encouraged, and believed thank you. You reminded us that in times of loss, community can become shelter.

And for Jhuniel, this is only one chapter. Better days are ahead.

There’s something deeply disheartening about seeing power used without full understanding.

A team was disqualified on the second day (semi-finals) not because of clear wrongdoing, but because of a protest that lacked diligence, proper review, and fairness from the organizers. Decisions like these shouldn’t be rushed or influenced. They should be grounded in truth, transparency, and responsibility.

What makes this even heavier is this
for some players, this wasn’t just about winning a game or claiming a prize for temporary satisfaction.

For one player, that championship prize meant a home.
A real chance at rebuilding.
A step toward something stable and lasting.

And that opportunity was taken away not by defeat on the court, but by a decision that failed to see the bigger picture.

We play the sport for competition, yes but also for community, integrity, and humanity.

I hope this becomes a reminder:
That every call we make affects real lives.
And fairness should never be compromised by power.

OPEN PLAY FOR A CAUSE 💛 | The Kitchen Paddles

Serve with purpose. Play with heart.

Join us for a meaningful Open Play as The Kitchen Paddles comes together to support a Batang Scholar. Every game you play becomes a step toward helping a child continue their journey in their pickleball journey.

All proceeds from this open play will go directly to providing our scholar with their much needed shoes, meals during training and tournaments, and transportation, simple needs that make a big difference in showing up, learning, and dreaming bigger.

This is more than just a game.
It’s a rally for hope. A community coming together. A chance to turn every point into purpose.

Whether you’re playing, cheering, or simply showing up—your presence matters.

Let’s play not just to win, but to give. 💛
