Pork Humba

Ingredients:

1 kg pork belly (cut into cubes)
1 medium onion (chopped)
5 cloves garlic (minced)
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup vinegar
1 cup pineapple juice or softdrinks (optional for sweetness)
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 cups water
2 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp black beans/tahure
2 pcs bay leaves
1 tsp whole peppercorn
1 small banana blossom (optional)
2 hard-boiled eggs (optional)
Cooking oil

Instructions:

1. Sear the pork
Heat oil in a pot and brown the pork belly until slightly crispy and golden.

2. Sauté aromatics
Add garlic and onion. Cook until fragrant.

3. Add seasonings

Pour in:

soy sauce
oyster sauce
pineapple juice
water

Add brown sugar, peppercorns, and bay leaves.

4. Simmer

Cover and simmer for about 45 minutes to 1 hour until the pork becomes tender.

5. Add vinegar
Pour vinegar without stirring for 2–3 minutes first, then mix gently.

6. Finish
Add black beans, banana blossoms, and boiled eggs. Simmer until sauce becomes thick and glossy.

Tips
Use pork belly for the best tender and juicy texture.
Coca-Cola or Sprite can be used instead of pineapple juice.
The longer it simmers, the more flavorful it gets.

Bacon Deviled Egg

Ingredients:

6 large eggs
3 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tsp yellow mustard
1 tsp vinegar or pickle juice
Salt and black pepper, to taste
3–4 strips crispy bacon, crumbled
Chopped chives or green onions
Paprika for garnish

Instructions:

Place eggs in a pot and cover with water.
Bring to a boil, then cover and turn off the heat. Let sit for 10–12 minutes.
Transfer eggs to ice water and peel once cooled.
Slice eggs in half lengthwise and remove yolks.
In a bowl, mash yolks with mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper until creamy.
Fold in half of the crumbled bacon.
Spoon or pipe the filling back into the egg whites.
Top with remaining bacon, chives, and a sprinkle of paprika.

Optional Add-Ins:

Shredded cheddar cheese
Hot sauce or cayenne pepper
Ranch seasoning
Pickle relish

Classic Chicken Caesar Salad

Ingredients

For the salad:

2 cups romaine lettuce, chopped
1 grilled chicken breast, sliced
½ cup cherry tomatoes, halved (optional but in your photo)
½ cup croutons
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

For the dressing:

1 egg yolk (or 2 tbsp mayo as a safer alternative)
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
¼ cup olive oil
2 tbsp grated Parmesan
Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions:

Make the dressing
In a bowl, whisk egg yolk, garlic, lemon juice, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
Slowly drizzle in olive oil while whisking until creamy.
Add Parmesan, salt, and pepper.
Prepare the chicken
Season with salt and pepper, grill or pan-sear until cooked through, then slice.
Assemble the salad
Toss lettuce with dressing until lightly coated.
Add chicken, tomatoes, and croutons.
Finish
Top with extra Parmesan and a crack of black pepper.

Tips:

For extra flavor, rub garlic on the bowl before mixing.
Want it crispier? Chill the lettuce before serving.

Ingredients:

2 ripe bananas, sliced lengthwise
2 tbsp butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
2 tbsp maple syrup or honey (optional for extra sweetness)
1/4 cup dark rum (optional, traditional)
1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Vanilla ice cream
A pinch of salt

Instructions:

Toast the nuts (optional):
In a dry pan, lightly toast the pecans for 1–2 minutes until fragrant. Set aside.
Make the sauce:

Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat.
Add the brown sugar and stir until it melts into a caramel-like sauce.

Add flavor:

Stir in cinnamon and a tiny pinch of salt.
Add maple syrup or honey if you want it sweeter.
Cook the bananas:
Place the banana slices in the pan and cook for about 1–2 minutes per side until soft and coated in the caramel sauce.
Add rum (optional):
Carefully pour in the rum and let it simmer for about 30 seconds.
If you want the classic flambé style, carefully ignite it with a long lighter and let the flame die down.
Serve:

Pork Igado

Ingredients:

500g pork kasim or liempo, sliced into strips
250g pork liver, sliced into strips (optional but traditional)
1 medium onion, sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 red bell pepper, sliced into strips
1 cup green peas
3 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp vinegar
1 cup water
2 bay leaves
1 tsp ground black pepper
2 tbsp cooking oil
salt to taste

Traditional versions commonly use pork plus liver, then simmer in soy sauce, vinegar, bay leaves, and peas.

👩‍🍳 How to Cook
Sauté aromatics
Heat oil in a pan. Sauté garlic and onion until fragrant.
Cook the pork
Add sliced pork and cook until light brown.
Add seasonings
Pour soy sauce, vinegar, water, bay leaves, and black pepper.
Cover and simmer for 20–30 minutes or until the pork becomes tender.
Add liver
Put in the pork liver and cook for 5 minutes.
Add vegetables
Add bell pepper and green peas. Cook for another 3–5 minutes.
Serve.
