The Story of Eat’s Gangnam:
A LOVE STORY SERVED ON A PLATE
Once upon a time, in the heart of Olongapo City, a young Filipina from Kalaklan crossed paths with a Korean man from Gangnam, South Korea.
It was 2010.
Neither of them knew that an ordinary meeting in Olongapo would become the beginning of a beautiful love story that would cross countries, cultures, and eventually generations.
Two people from different worlds found something they both knew was special. Their friendship blossomed into love, and in 2012, they promised to walk through life together as husband and wife.
Their story didn’t stop there.
In 2017, their love for Korea, Korean food, and the life they were building together inspired them to open a restaurant in Korea. It became more than just a place to eat—it was a little piece of their journey, their culture, and their shared dreams.
Through the years, their family grew too. They were blessed with two wonderful sons, now 7 and 3 years old, who became another beautiful chapter in their story.
But somewhere in their hearts, Olongapo never stopped being home.
It was the wife's hometown.
It was the city where their paths first crossed.
It was where their love story began.
And so, after years of building a life and a restaurant in Korea, they dreamed of bringing something special back to the place where it all started.
Not just a restaurant.
Not just Korean food.
But a taste of the Korea they love, brought together with the Filipino heart they call home.
And that dream became Eat’s Gangnam Korean Restaurant.
Named after Gangnam, South Korea, the place where their Korean half of the story began, Eat’s Gangnam is a celebration of two cultures, one family, and a love story that started right here in Olongapo.
Today, they invite every Olongapeño and Zambaleño to become part of their story—to gather around the table, discover the authentic flavors of Korea, and create their own memories over a delicious meal.
Because behind every dish at Eat’s Gangnam is a little piece of a journey…
