Proudly carrying the name of 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐝 𝐝𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚. 𝐈𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥 𝐝𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐠𝐚 𝐈𝐧𝐜. and the 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬’ 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐔𝐒𝐈-𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫, our Vincentian student nurses stepped forward to represent our institution at the 𝟐𝟒𝒕𝒉 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 held on October 4, 2026, at The Tent City, The Manila Hotel.

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐒𝐈 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐒𝐀, our student leaders stood with nursing students from across the country, bringing the Vincentian spirit of leadership, excellence, and service:

• 𝑬𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒂 𝑬𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒛𝒂 𝑫𝑽. 𝑷𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒂 — Governor
• 𝑩𝒓𝒚𝒏𝒆 𝑱𝒐𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒙 𝑴. 𝑪𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒂 — External Vice-Governor
• 𝑰𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒔 𝑫. 𝑻𝒖𝒄𝒊𝒐 — Secretary
• 𝑺𝒐𝒇𝒊𝒂 𝑲𝒂𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒏 𝑮𝒂𝒚𝒍𝒆 𝑱. 𝑷𝒐𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒊 — Treasurer
• 𝑲𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒓𝒂 𝑭. 𝑪𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒐 — Public Relations Officer

They were accompanied by 𝑴𝒔. 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑪𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒂 𝑩. 𝑮𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒐, 𝑴𝑵𝑬, 𝑹𝑵, 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝟑 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧.

Bringing together more than 1,000+ nursing student delegates from various institutions, the conference created an avenue for future nurses to connect beyond their respective schools, meet fellow nursing students, exchange experiences, and build meaningful connections within the nursing community.

Our delegates were also given the opportunity to meet and learn from the 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠, gaining valuable insights from nursing leaders and seeing firsthand the people who continue to help shape the profession they aspire to be part of.

Centered on the theme, “𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙉𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘼𝙜𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙞𝙢𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣-𝘽𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣,” the conference explored how artificial intelligence, innovation, and simulation-based learning are transforming nursing education and preparing future nurses for an evolving healthcare landscape.

For our Vincentian student leaders, the experience was more than a day of learning. It was an opportunity to represent USI and the Nursing Students’ Association, connect with the wider nursing community, learn from nursing leaders, and carry home perspectives that can inspire them to become better student nurses and future professionals.

Breast cancer is surrounded by many misconceptions that can sometimes lead to fear, confusion, or delayed care. That’s why knowing the facts matters!

HERE ARE SOME IMPORTANT FACTS TO REMEMBER:
💕Men can develop breast cancer too. Although rare, men have breast tissue and can be affected.
💕 Not every breast lump is cancerous. However, any new or unusual lump should be evaluated by a healthcare professional.
💕 Breast cancer may not cause pain. Some people may have no noticeable symptoms, especially in the early stages.
💕 Family history is not the only risk factor. While having a family history can increase risk, many people diagnosed with breast cancer have no known family history.
💕 Age matters, but breast cancer can affect younger people too. It becomes more common with increasing age, but it can still occur in younger individuals.

📍Knowing the facts can help us recognize changes early and seek appropriate medical care when needed. Don’t let myths stop you from taking your health seriously. When in doubt, consult a healthcare professional.

Let’s spread awareness, not misinformation. Share these facts with your family, friends, and loved ones because early awareness can make a great difference. 🎀💗

It's Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Timely diagnosis saves lives. Take a second look 👀 at your breasts.⁣ If you notice changes to your breasts, such as a lump, pitting of the skin or pain, go and see a health practitioner for a check-up. ⁣
⁣
Most breast lumps are not cancerous. Those that are, can be more effectively treated if identified early.

✅ Check your breasts ⁣
✅ Get screened regularly ⁣
✅ See your doctor ⁣
✅ Get your annual mammogram done

🎀 𝐈𝐍𝐅𝐎 𝐁𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐒: 𝐂𝐀𝐍 𝐌𝐄𝐍 𝐆𝐄𝐓 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐑?

𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨𝐨. Although breast cancer is uncommon among men, it can occur because men also have breast tissue. Awareness of its possible signs and risk factors is important for early recognition and timely medical consultation.

🔎 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫: New or unusual breast lumps or swelling, ni**le discharge, ni**le changes, skin dimpling or scaling, redness, or swelling under the arm.

📈 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐛𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐫: Factors such as older age, a family history of breast cancer, BRCA1/BRCA2 gene mutations, Klinefelter syndrome, certain hormonal conditions, and previous radiation exposure to the chest.

While these changes do not necessarily indicate cancer, unusual or persistent breast 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗱. Seeking professional medical evaluation can help ensure appropriate assessment and care.
