A few days ago, we took a quick break from service. No order tickets. No Chicsilog or Tapa. No “order po!” or “Ilang minutes pa?” echoing through our walls. Just us—laughing, playing, taking photos, and enjoying each other’s company like friends again.

This year’s team building and retreat reminded us why we always look forward to it, and why it matters.

Work often gets in the way of connection, so focused on getting the job done. We spend so much time together, yet rarely have the chance to simply talk, listen, and get to know each other beyond the rush of every shift. But something felt different on this trip. People made an effort to reach out, start conversations, reconnect, and rebuild relationships that may have quietly faded in the middle of our busy days.

With many new things on the horizon and change always finding its way to us, one thing became even clearer: no matter what lies ahead, we’ll always return to the reason we started and the people we are with. That’s the direction we want to keep moving in, together.

It’s easy to call ourselves a team. It’s much harder to live it every day. Being a team isn’t about being perfect. It’s about continuing to choose one another, communicate better, and grow together. And that’s what truly matters, that we are trying.🫶🏻🐮
