As a child, doing nothing sounded like punishment. As an adult, it can feel like the most valuable activity available.
A campfire does not need entertainment. You sit down, watch the flames, move a log occasionally, and somehow an entire evening passes without feeling wasted. There is no deadline, no productive outcome, and nothing to show for it except calmer thoughts and clothes that smell like smoke.
That is part of growing up: finally understanding that doing nothing in the right place can be exactly what you needed.
