Owned by a Palestinian-Filipino couple, Alquds is unassuming and unpretentious—a residential basement converted into a restaurant. Yet it’s home to filling, flavorful plates: maqluba (broiled chicken served over spiced long-grain rice), maqali (a garlicky dish of fried eggplants and potatoes), a thick rendition of baba ganoush, and zesty Arabic salad, just to name a few." ❤️
