So now the blame game has coveniently shifted to TPB's COO. She personally signed a letter of confirmation that holds no water, has no disclaimer and disrespectfully, not inform her staff and us that it's not truthful She cites that her BOD had not given approval thus she had no power to approve what she 'approved.'

The fact is this, her underlings had been tireless working on the project with us since she gave the verbal nod over 6 months back. They designed a regional promotion program with world media, spoke to 7 culinary colleges in Philippines including Enderon about a campaign to have them champion their own culinary culture plus observed a meeting with our WSFC Council (Philippines) that included Chef Tatung and Chef Sau del Rosario among a few notable brians of the industry. We discussed ideas to advance the ideals of food culture and heritage.

Your letter of approval dated 19 Feb was actually sent to us on the 23 of March, as advised by your tireless staff who waited for the official nod from your BOD, on the 22nd of March. The legal contract was also sent to us on that same day. So yes, you sent a letter of confirmation with a formal contract ( mere formality for details and adjustments). Check out the emails to us from your team dated then. It's not healthy displaying it here in public (its got your name on it too).

Of course you show scant regard for your international partners but that's what we have come to accept and it's ok, BUT, you owe alot to your team who diligently worked on this and then have you and the Sec unceremoniously brushed this event off without reason and regard. You owe your team an apology and you should show them more respect. They worked on overdrive to hold up the integrity of the Board and Dept. They work for the country, not you or the Sec.

We had two great years holding the WSFC under the previous DOT and TPB administration and it was a resounding success (their words, not ours). We thank the Philippines people for supporting this cause to put Pinoy food culture on the world's food map. We hope to do this again because it's a good cause and movement. Salamat.

Dear Mdm Secretary DOT, (your team send this note to our management)

If there was no agreement to cancel, then you should not lead us and our partners on with this misleading note. A simple "No" will suffice. You can understand why, with this note of clarification from your TPB's COO, no less, we moved on to activate our resources in good faith. Your department had hijacked two years of ours and our partner's time.

I hope this style of professional ethics is not a habit.

PS.., We omitted our address as we are in no mood to recieve visitors on this matter now. Hope you understand.

This is very disturbing and disappointing. The World Street Food Congress 2019 Philippines, all set and officially approved recently, is again cancelled by TPB and DOT, like they did in 2018. No reason nor rhyme was given and this, was after 6 months of legwork the WSFC did in curating and accomodating the TPB abd DOT ideals for the event.

We have located and invited chefs, cooks, street food professionals and vendors for 14 countries. International speakers including top players and names in the game. Street food vendors with Michelin Stars and World Street Food Award winners have been lined up for it. Media , who had always been following and refreshingly keen to report about the event and the host ,had already been invited and looking forward.

We worked with 7 culinary colleges in Phiippines and 200 students for the event. We curated a special showcase to feature these students and their local food skills to be showcased in Singapore, among others.

This in unbecoming of the TPB and DOT, but we doubt this is personal as we have a good working relationship with the ground team. We apologise to the scores of local and international food fans, sponsors, partners and entrepreneurs who have already placed their interest in this year's event in BGC. But fret not, we still believe this event is good for the Philippines and we will press on to deliver it, albeit, we have to go back to drawing table. Which was also why we even suggested to the Street Food Show team on Netflix that Philippines be featured. It created alot of international noise despite all the protests about origins and recommendations. Food noise is good noise.

For the first time, the World Street Food Congress will be forming the WSF Council of Advisors (Philippines Chapter), ahead of this year's event in October. We need to turn this great Philippines food love into actionable opportunites and ideas- to put Philippine food culture even higher up on the world food map.

We'll introduce some of the Council members soon, when they agree to assist and also, and very importantly, we'll need your views and suggestions on our mission- to be annoucnced real soon. Thank you for your support.

It was at the inaugural World Street Food Congress 13' that Tony first mentioned he wanted us to help him build his Bourdian Market, NYC. He saw what it can truly be for talented cooks who has a lack of roads into the business. He believed in it and he also came to Manila for WSFC17 to sell his message about the potentials and opportnities in heritage street food culture. " You can create a culinary reputation and brand on 4 wheels." was his famous quote to us.

The World Street Food Congress 2019 will be back in the beautiful Bonifacio Global City , BGC in October this year. We salute Tony's vision and spirit we push even further on with his wishes and intents. This year's WSFC19' theme , "Street Food Roads to Success" at the World Street Food Dialogue will be about inspirations and opportunities (we can;t mention that word enough) because there is a universe of platforms and offers out there for talents in this field. There are also a long list of people who have taken that route to success and have delcious stories to share.

The Philippines is a culiary wonder that is in the midst of erupting onto every dining table in the world. It will happen and turn it into a true culinary culture that offers jobs, entrepreneurship, tourism, lifestyle touches, trade and industry potentials. We thank the Dept of Tourism (DOT) and Tourism Promotion Board (TPB) for their ardent belief and support on this movement and the WSFC.
