Let's have a quick background check, guys! Do you know the origin of our favorite tacos? ๐ฎ
If you answered that tacos originated in Mexico, then that is right! There is evidence that our favorite tacos are considered Mexican cuisine. Although Morillo (2021) said that it is difficult to trace back the exact year of its invention, tacos are most definitely inspired by the silver mines of Mexico.
A Professor from the University of Toronto named Jeffrey M. Pilcher explained that silver miners from Mexico used the word "taco" to call the charges they use to excavate silver. These materials are described as pieces of paper wrapping gunpowder (Morillo, 2021). This is similar to how the tacos of today are served to the people, it consists of a taco shell being used to wrap the meat inside.
