How Breakfree Café Began
Breakfree Café started as a quiet dream in the middle of burnout. After more than a decade of working in the corporate world, I found myself longing for something more — something with meaning, purpose, and heart. What began as a personal struggle slowly turned into a vision: to create a space where people can pause, reflect, and breathe.
In every cup, a moment to breathe. In every sip, a chance to break free.
This café is the result of that journey — a step away from the routine, and a step toward something real.
Let me take you through the journey of how Breakfree Café came to life — a story shaped by reflection, risk, and purpose.
I've been working as an employee for over 10 years. For most of that time, I stayed within my comfort zone — doing my job, hitting my deliverables, and following the path laid out for me. But lately, things have changed. I’ve been struggling to keep up with the pressure, the responsibilities, and the growing disconnect between what I do and what truly matters to me. It became harder to feel fulfilled, and the spark I once had began to fade.
It was in that difficult space — where I felt tired, overwhelmed, and uncertain — that the idea of starting my own coffee shop was born. If things were easy, I would’ve never dared to dream of something different. But discomfort has a way of pushing us to evolve. And so I chose to take a risk — to break free from the safety of corporate life and build something of my own.
This coffee shop isn’t just a business. It’s a symbol of change, of courage, and of a new beginning. It's a tribute to the strength we find in hard times, and to the power of taking risks when it matters most.
More than that, this is also for my mother, who is currently battling Parkinson’s disease. She is one of my biggest reasons for taking this step. I want to be in a better place to support her — not just financially, but with more time, presence, and love.
So this isn’t just a café. It’s a story in a cup — of struggle, risk, purpose, and hope.
