She didn’t understand why her human wasn’t waking up. She only knew one thing, she had to stay.
She sat beside the coffin, her tired eyes barely open, her small heart refusing to rest. The world around her had gone quiet, but her loyalty spoke louder than any words ever could.
This little dog didn’t care about flowers or ceremonies. She didn’t understand grief the way we do. But in her own way, she showed what love looks like in its purest form, love that doesn’t leave, even when goodbye has already been said.
She stayed not out of confusion, but devotion. Because to her, love doesn’t end with death. It simply waits, quietly, faithfully, beside the one who once made her feel safe.
If only we could love with the same loyalty, the kind that doesn’t fade, even when the lights go out.
