An integral component of one of the largest and most dynamic marine industrial conglomerates in the Philippines, UCI features a fully mechanized, semi-automated canning plant built according to the most stringent international requirements and standards. The plant is HACCP and EU-accredited, HALAL-certified, has a rated capacity of producing approximately 1.2 to 1.5 million 202 x 306 cans a day, a

nd most importantly, provides steady livelihood to over a thousand factory workers. Moreover, the company has ultra-modern facilities and resources involved in deep sea fishing, ice production, blast freezing and cold storage, fishmeal production, shipyard and dry docking, as well as canning and dry fish processing . These resources collectively afford an independent and fully integrated process of providing fresh fish to the market, or the cannery, bringing into reality the concept of “straight from the sea to the can".
