It will entail the creative use of old world 1 x 8 inch bricks planned for the huge walls of the interiors, clean line Zen touches and woodwork in African Wenge. The décor is definitely old world with reproduced photographs of the Old Malabon in sepia, framed and tastefully arranged inside the bistro. Bringing the bistro to the 21st century are three LCD units carefully placed inside to provide en
tertainment and visual appeal. “Banquets” or sofas will line the interior walls for that cozy feel. The chairs will be bistro style and in African Wenge finish. A huge wooden service bar will be located in the center and will house the actual wine selection and cocktail area before dinner. The bistro will be air-conditioned and will provide cozy piped in music to entertain patrons. Potted palmera plants will likewise give the interiors a homey look. Palmera’s will form the central theme of the bistro. Huge palmeras plants will adorn the front of the bistro and will be lighted for that visual impact needed to frame the bistro. The front wall will be in brick and old wood will frame floor to ceiling glass doors. The change is needed for that visual impact the bistro needs. Brown and orange fabric umbrellas with outdoor seating will complete the bistro look. The signage will be in brass cut out and will be lighted for branding. The logo has yet to be finished but will look similar in font to the Great Finds logo with a Palmera’s leaf replacing the picnic basket. LOCATION
After an initial ocular inspection of Paseo De San Antonio, the bistro is planned to occupy the bigger space of this twin F & B project. The ideal location of the bistro would be the 8 x 10 meter unit at the right side of the center stairs of the building. The room is expansive and is ideal for a bistro dinner set-up. We’ve looked at the major facilities such as, plumbing and electrical and we can conveniently design a bistro dining area in this unit. The rear portion of the unit will house the professional kitchen, pantry and support areas. MENU
Italian, Spanish and Filipino will constitute the breath of offerings. We’ve reviewed the supply line and went predominantly seafood. Starters are predominantly designed “tapas” style in the old Spanish tradition, plus Filipino and Italian selections done the Palmera’s way. Salads have a Seafood Asian twist while Pastas are time-tested recipes and are done true to tradition and form. Pizzas will definitely be different and our planned Specialty Plates are designed to trail blaze offerings in the general area. Ninety percent of the items in the menu offering have been tested in previous cafés and is expected to attract the right clientele.
“A Slice of Greenbelt”? The brief outlines a serious attempt at creating a landmark and destination for the visitors and residents of Malabon. The outlet aims to be a central gathering point for both business meetings and celebrations. We did not attempt to outdo local food specialties, instead, we opted to offer menu items unique to the area.
