The bass line is deep and driving. The drums are crisp. The harmonies swell with orchestral richness. Then comes the realization: everything they’re hearing is produced entirely by human voices.
That moment of disbelief has become Acapellago’s signature.
In an era dominated by digital production, backing tracks, and artificial enhancements, the Filipino vocal ensemble has built its reputation on something refreshingly simple—and incredibly difficult. Every beat, every melody, and every sound effect is created live through the remarkable versatility of the human voice.
Established in 2012, Acapellago has grown into one of the Philippines’ premier contemporary pop a ca****la groups and one of the country’s most successful musical exports. The group has proudly represented the Philippines across Europe, Asia, and the Pacific, earning international acclaim for its innovative vocal arrangements and world-class performances.
The ensemble is composed of Sha-ira Opsimar (soprano), Almond Bolante (countertenor), Joshua Cadeliña (tenor), Happy Laderas (bass), and Bogart Laderas (vocal percussionist), whose distinct vocal roles come together to create the rich sound of an entire band using only their voices.
Far from being just another singing group, Acapellago transforms familiar songs into immersive vocal experiences. Members seamlessly switch between soaring melodies, intricate harmonies, thunderous bass lines, lifelike percussion, and instrumental imitations, proving that the human voice alone can recreate the power and energy of a full musical ensemble.
Their artistry has earned recognition not only at home but also on the global stage.
Acapellago is a six-time Awit Award recipient for Best Vocal Arrangement and a four-time consecutive Ani ng Dangal Awardee from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA). In 2021, the group also received the prestigious SUDI National Music Award, recognizing its outstanding contribution to Philippine music and culture. It has likewise been honored with the World Class Global Award for A Ca****la Group Excellence.
Internationally, Acapellago has assembled one of the most impressive competition records of any Filipino vocal ensemble. Among its achievements are becoming Grand Champion of the Vocal Asia 6th Asian A Ca****la Cup in Japan (2019); First Prize winner in the Medium Group Category of the Moscow Spring A Ca****la Festival in Russia (2019); Overall Champion of the CHVocals Golden A Ca****la in China (2018); recipient of the First Prize Ward Swingle Award at Vokal Total in Austria (2017); first runner-up in the 3rd Asian A Ca****la Cup in Taiwan (2016); champion of the AKA A Ca****la VIII Asia-Pacific Championship League in Singapore (2016); champion of the A Ca****la Championships in Singapore (2015); and two-time champion of the Akapela Open in the Philippines (2013 and 2015).
But awards tell only part of the story.
Acapellago has become an ambassador for a musical form that remains both timeless and constantly evolving. Through concerts, international festivals, cultural exchanges, and educational workshops, the group demonstrates that a ca****la is far more than singing without instruments—it is a discipline that demands impeccable pitch, rhythm, breath control, teamwork, and absolute trust among performers.

Across streaming and social media platforms, Acapellago has amassed more than 2.2 million streams, over 11.2 million video views, approximately 1.3 million subscribers, nearly 38,700 followers across its social platforms, around 449,000 followers on another major platform, and more than 16,400 monthly listeners on streaming services.
