A collaboration with Current Coffee Roasters made sense from the get go. We've enjoyed their coffee from our personal experiences in the past. We've had their beans for our opening week and became crowd favourites for our first months, so it just felt right to have kaheljordan take over the shop. A nice easy Monday filled with friends, and damn good brews. More Bugoyi?

ahead of the origami cup, we were blessed to be the first stop on Yasuo Suzuki's manila tour this year. such an honor to have the legend himself brew some fantastic cups for us and grace our tiny cafe 🤩 big love to Toyo Specialty Coffee + Matcha 🐈‍⬛🍵 for the assist 🤝🏽 (also had our in house ORIGAMI brewers signed hehe) we hope to see you in pocket again soon yasuo-san!

the last few weeks have been pretty insane, and we've been lucky to have such amazing people do their thing in the shop.
•
our first hot grub takeover with Cec 🌼 — Your Pie Friend was such a fun atmosphere to have with pie regulars and pocket regulars colliding. the shop smelled so good with all the baked goods and the energy was so nice throughout the day, seeing everyone eating good and loving the pairings. 💕 the guava highball was a smash hit, the savory pies were mindblowing, people hung out til past closing, and we're already planning part 2!!! 👀
big big big thank you to Cec 🌼 — Your Pie Friend Cecille Juan for taking the time to do r&d and tastings with the team to make sure we had an amazing menu. really one of the most hardworking out there and we're lucky to have had you and alia ♡ do your thang for that weekend with us! 🥧🥧🥧

it's gonna be a crazy coffee madness weekend, and we won't have a spot at either of the big fiestas buuuut, we'll have a few exciting things happening in the shop!

first off, a very special guest -- we'll be hosting Yasuo Suzuki of TRUNK COFFEE and one of the designers of the ORIGAMI dripper on FRIDAY, for some brews from the man himself. we'll be having a special menu ahead of the origami cup, and an exciting selection of beans from 10am til 12nn. join us for a quick pre-game before all the events go full swing!

sum more beanz in the shop! some we've been excited to brew, just had to wait for them to get ripe for brewing, some given by regulars, and some from recent travels. • come by for some good brews

a very fun and interesting bag from f l u i d -- wild forest project, a lot from cerro punta panama, producer unknown, floral, clean, aromatic, a nice fun and interesting gesha to try.

a new local release from Plain Sight Coffee Roasters in the tiny jar, the oma geisha natural, fruity, floral, syrupy -- only 5 servings in one jar. part of the inaugural The Edit collection from plain sight, this one's probably gonna be gone fast. besides the oma gesha, we also added a decaf in the Sleepyhead bag for all yall still wanting to have a cup without the caffeine!

something from our friend and budol enjoyer Niko Tiutan, one of their faves in taipei, n o o n -- which apparently warrants multiple visits one trip. bag's a Jokimwa AA, Kenya, a washed SL28 and SL34, prominent currant, hibiscus and sweetness.

another one from our sunrise loving regular tee 🐆, beans from kuala lumpur, exciting notes of rambutan, banana fritters and cacao nibs. a bean we rarely see here, so we're excited to brew this!

and the last bag from our canada haul from nemesis.coffee, a muthunzuuni from kenya, tea-like with berry notes. a nice cup for a complex, bright and vibrant brew.

no plans, just pure chaotic improvisation fueled by passion for all things you see in the shop -- we've put together something that's an expression of all our interests, including our team's, under the guise of a café. pocket's basically an excuse to have a tambayan, but still put forward good sounds, and great coffee all while providing hospitality as we know best from spaces we've been regulars at. we hope to provide a creative space that truly does actual collaborations with people we admire, brands we enjoy, movements we support, and still make a good cup of coffee while at it. so we hope you guys get to know pocket a little better, and see that people make the place. 🫂

what was our thought process when we were building our little pocket?

aside from our space being another place you can hang out in, we wanted people who can make you feel at home but also make you bangin' coffee. so with that, meet our team ü
