Chisana Takoyaki (ε°γγͺγΏγ³), translated as "small octopus" is one of the well-known variations of Takoyaki that uses a baby/small octopus inside the grilled balls. We have paired it with a slice of cheddar cheese on top to improve its classic flavor.
Kaniyaki (γ«γγ€γ), translates as "grilled crab" is also one of the well-known variations of -yaki commonly used as a substitute to the original octopus bits. Somehow, it cannot replace the chewiness of the octopus that we loved. Corn is mixed with the crab to avoid missing out and provide the unique sweetness that the corn is known to have.
Hamuyaki (γγ ηΌγ), translates as "grilled ham" is one of the well-known variations of -yaki in the Philippines. Ham and cheese have been with the Filipinos for every pastry there is. The simple taste of ham and unique saltiness of the cheese makes it a proper alternative filling for a Takoyaki.
Lastly,
Chizuyaki (ηΌγγγΌγΊ), translates as "baked cheese/grilled cheese" is one of the known variations of Takoyaki and is loved by the Filipinos. Our Chizuyaki is filled with cubed cheddar cheese and mozzarella to have that unique stretch to be enjoyed when eating. β¨π€
