Today would have been your special day, and though it has been three years since you left us, you are still loved, missed, and remembered every single day. You were more than just the heart and soul of Phuong Vietnamese Restaurant, you were a mother, a friend, and a warm light to everyone who walked through your doors.

Your kindness, your gentle smile, and the love you poured into every dish made every meal feel like home. To your loyal customers, you were family. Three years may have passed, but your legacy lives on in every flavor, every memory, and in the hearts of all who knew and loved you.

We are so grateful to have been chosen by the Embassy of Canada in the Philippines to prepare authentic Vietnamese dishes for this meaningful event! 🤍

Thank you very much for the kind invitation and for including us in your meaningful celebration of World Refugee Day last 16 June 2026. It was truly an honor and a privilege to be part of this important gathering that honors the strength, resilience, and contributions of refugees in our communities.

We also wish to acknowledge and pay tribute to Phuong Vietnamese Restaurant – established since 1975 — founded and built with love by Nanay Phuong, a Vietnamese refugee who made the Philippines her home. Though she passed away a few years ago, her legacy lives on through the food, stories, and warmth she shared with everyone. We know deep in our hearts that Nanay Phuong would have been so incredibly grateful, touched, and thankful for this opportunity to be recognized and included in such a special event. This gathering would have meant the world to her, as it stands for everything she believed in: welcome, kindness, and giving people a chance to rebuild their lives.

Your embassy’s efforts to highlight stories like hers do not just honor the past — they inspire hope and understanding for the future. Thank you for your compassion, your support, and for creating spaces where refugees’ experiences and contributions are seen and valued.
