At dahil avid birder, hindi pinalampas ni kuya Bom na magphotograph ng mga ibon around Kanlungan. One of the birds he saw was the Indigo-banded Kingfisher. We told him that Luzon Hornbill, Scale-feathered Malkoha, Rough-crested Malkoha and Guaiaberos regularly visit Kanlungan, although they didn’t make an appearance during his short visit. Kaya by September, babalik siya kasama ang fellow birders for a dedicated birdwatching trip dito sa Kanlungan!

Here are some of the beautiful birds he has photographed in the Philippines: the Wattled Broadbill in Cagayan de Oro, and the Nicobar Pigeon and Pied Imperial Pigeon in Palawan.

Atty. Bom Gomez visited us! It’s always a joy to reconnect with old friends whose passion has grown alongside yours. Like us, our journey began with collecting beautiful non-native plants. But over the years, that passion evolved into something much deeper—a commitment to conserving our own Philippine native flora and sharing its beauty with others.

For kuya Bom, his journey also expanded into birding, exploring and documenting birds both here in the Philippines and abroad, inspiring many to appreciate and protect the natural world.

Our updated menu is here! 🍝🥗🥪

We’ve added a few new dishes and made some updates to our menu, including adjustments to the prices of some items.

As many of you know, Kanlungan River Cafe is nestled at the foothills of Mt. Banahaw, malayo po sa Liliw town proper at sa public market, so every ingredient po has to travel a bit farther before it reaches our kitchen.

As much as we’d love to keep our prices the same, we also have to consider transportation and logistics, together with the continuous increase in ingredient costs and other operating expenses.

Rest assured po, our goal remains the same—to serve you good food in a peaceful, nature-filled setting, malayo sa gulo at ingay ng siyudad, while sharing our deep love for nature and Philippine culture, and the simple joy of slowing down and appreciating nature.
