Seeing Alex Gonzaga-Morada’s pregnancy announcement broke me in the softest way possible.
Because all I could think about was that lantern in Taiwan — the one where they wrote, “healthy babies for me & Mikee.”
At that time, it probably looked like a simple wish written in ink. But behind those words was years of crying, waiting, praying, hoping, and trying to stay faithful while carrying heartbreak after heartbreak.
And now, that prayer came true.
I think that’s what makes this so emotional for so many people. We saw the waiting. We saw the losses. We saw how they continued to smile while silently grieving dreams that never got to stay long enough. Yet despite everything, they never stopped surrendering it all to God.
And somehow, that kind of faith always moves me to tears.
Because there are prayers you whisper to God so many times that eventually, you stop asking loudly and just carry them quietly in your heart. There are promises you hold onto even when reality keeps breaking them apart. And there are seasons where all you can do is trust that God is still writing something beautiful behind all the pain.
Maybe that’s why this feels more than just a pregnancy announcement.
It feels like a reminder that God hears every silent cry.
Every “why not yet?”
Every heartbreak nobody else sees.
Every prayer made with trembling faith.
Sometimes, God answers immediately.
Sometimes, He lets us wait until faith becomes the
only thing left to hold onto.
But He never forgets.
Never abandons.
Never stops working in the waiting.
And seeing their miracle now feels like witnessing God fulfill a promise He had been holding for them all along.
