Sometimes life comes full circle in the most beautiful ways. ✨

Last week, someone celebrated his birthday here at the cottage. ☺ But it was more than a birthday — it was a homecoming.

He lived here in the 90s. These walls knew him when he was young. He walked these same floors, looked out these same windows, grew up in these same rooms, and called this place home. 🏡

And now, decades later, he chose to celebrate his birthday here — in the space that once was his, that we've been honored to care for and share. 💕

We can't fully express what that means to us. 🥹 To care for a place and then have someone from its past walk through the door again — not with sadness for what had changed, but smiling at what remained and what it's become. To be trusted with creating new memories where old ones were made.

He told us a little about the rooms, the river, the life that used to fill these walls. And we listened, grateful to understand the history we're now a part of.

This cottage has always been more than just ours. It belongs to everyone who has ever called it home, everyone who has made memories here, everyone who has found peace within these walls. 🍃

Thank you for coming back, Sir Ronaldo. Thank you for trusting us with your celebration. Thank you for reminding us that we're not just running a tea house — we're keeping a place alive that holds pieces of people's lives. We're glad one of those pieces is yours. 🫶 Welcome home. 🥰

Instead of just saying Happy Labor Day, maybe this is what we need to hear: 📣

The Philippines has never lacked hardworking people.

Every single day, millions of Filipinos wake up before sunrise, commute for hours in packed PUVs and traffic, stretch every peso to cover what it shouldn't have to cover, meet impossible deadlines, carry entire families on their shoulders, and keep going even when their bodies are screaming for rest.

This country keeps moving. Not because the system works—but because ordinary Filipinos refuse to let it collapse. Because you keep forcing it to work through sheer willpower and sacrifice.
The middle class is exhausted. Workers are drained. Breadwinners are running on empty. 🪫

But here's what we need to be clear about: the poor are not your enemy. They never were.

The real burden—the one crushing all of us—is corruption.
The officials who pocket public funds meant for schools and hospitals. The politicians who buy loyalty with temporary “ayuda” instead of creating lasting solutions. The systems that weaponize poverty during elections and keep people dependent so power never shifts hands.

We've been hearing it a lot again lately — "Do you have coffee?" Sometimes from strangers. Sometimes from people we love, friends, family - "Just add coffee! Everyone wants it!"

We hear you. ☺️ We really do. And we want to address this with the respect and honesty you deserve. 💕

Tizan will not offer coffee. Not now, not ever.

Our name comes from "tisane"—herbal tea. We didn't choose that name randomly. We chose it because it reflects our entire purpose: to introduce people to the wellness, comfort, and healing that herbal teas offer. 😌

We started Tizan because our own bodies couldn't do coffee anymore. (Nasobrahan yan sila. 🤭) We needed something different, something gentler. And in that search, we stumbled into this whole beautiful world of herbal infusions — the flavors, the calm, the way a warm cup can feel like actual care. 🍃 We fell in love with it, and we built this place to share that with you. 🏡

When you asked for coffee-like options, we listened. We created our Dandee series—drinks that taste like coffee but are still tisanes, still plant-based, still true to what we are. That's our compromise, made with love and care for your preferences. 💕

But actual coffee? That's a line we'll gently hold. Not to be stubborn — but because we know who we are. And we think there's something really special about a place that knows what it is and stays true to it. 🤍

We won't change our brand identity to chase trends or compete with cafes. That wouldn't honor you, our mission, or the coffee shop owners in our community, whom we genuinely respect and support. They do their thing beautifully. We want to do ours. ✨
