For the past couple of years running a coffee shop inside the village, we’ve always dreaded the arrival of the monsoon season. Our past experiences conditioned us to believe that the rainy season meant virtually zero walk-ins, stalled deliveries, riders having to brave the storm just to get orders delivered safely, and staff stranded due to flooding among many other situations beyond our control.
Yet over the past few days, we decided to stay open for as long as we safely could, always keeping our team’s wellbeing top of mind. To our pleasant surprise, you folks still showed up to our little café, and that made every single bit of effort worth it. Our mission has always been to be an extension of your home—a cozy place where you can sit back, work remotely, get lost in a book, or simply hang out with your loved ones.
Every single time our squeaky front door opens, our hearts are filled with gratitude. Rain or shine, you keep coming back, and every visit means the world to us. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our regulars for your continued support, our suppliers who work tirelessly to ensure we don’t run out of coffee and ingredients, the delivery riders who brave the rain to make sure every order arrives safely, and our amazing staff who continue to show up no matter the circumstances.
It has been weeks since we last saw the sun and our phones started startling us with constant emergency alerts. We are praying that the weather improves soon so riders don’t have to battle the elements, workers don’t have to wade through floods and local businesses can continue to survive.
