The world-renowned coffee brand Starbucks is set to open its first store in Puerto Princesa City with a soft launch scheduled on October 10 (Friday) a development seen as a major boost to the city’s commercial and tourism growth.
Jeanny R. Owen, Executive Assistant to the Chairman of Rustan Coffee Corporation, the official operator of Starbucks Philippines, paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron to discuss updates on the upcoming store opening.
Owen shared that the new branch emphasizes local employment, as most of its newly hired baristas and staff are residents of Puerto Princesa.
Starbucks employees from Palawan who have returned to the City to help train the new team, according to Owen.
Mayor Bayron said this marks another boost to the city’s local economy, with Rustan Coffee Corporation becoming one of the newest investors in the city.
