There are a lot of new places to eat in Ilocos Norte today. New restaurants, new concepts, new flavors, and even some of the biggest pizza names have made their way here.
But C&E Pizza Pasta has always had a different kind of place in the hearts of Ilocanos.
C&E turns 40 years old this year.
Since 1986, this homegrown pizza and pasta place has been serving Ilocos Norte through changing times, changing tastes, and changing generations. Four decades is a long time, especially in a food industry where new places constantly come and go.
And yet, C&E is still here.
You can try the newest restaurant in town. You can try the popular pizza brands everyone is talking about. You can explore all the new food spots that have opened around Ilocos Norte.
But there is something about going back to C&E.
Maybe it is the memories attached to it. Maybe it is the stories shared around the table. Or maybe it is simply that feeling when you take that first bite and think, "This still tastes like home."
For many Ilocanos, C&E is not just about pizza and pasta. It is about the people and the moments that came with them.
Family meals. Birthday celebrations. After-school snacks. First dates. Barkada gatherings. Simple afternoons that did not seem special at the time, but somehow became the memories we remember years later.
And what makes C&E even more special is the way they have treated people through all these years.
Customers being treated to free meals and drinks, and some even receiving free pizza for a year, or more. These may seem like simple gestures, but they are the kind of things people remember. Not because of how much they were worth, but because of how those gestures made people feel.
Their generosity has always seemed to go beyond simply running a restaurant. They have supported the PWD community and have helped other communities in ways that often happen quietly, behind the scenes. Not everything has to be posted. Not every act of kindness needs a camera or an announcement. Sometimes, you help because you genuinely care about the people around you.
And I think that says a lot about a business that has spent 40 years being part of the community.
They may have moved from one place to another over the decades. Their locations have changed. The city has changed. The food scene has changed. New names have come in and become popular.
But somehow, people kept finding their way back to C&E.
Maybe that is the real story behind 40 years.
It is not just about surviving while everything around you changes. It is about earning a place in people's lives that makes them want to return, bring their families, introduce their children, and eventually come back with another generation.
The customers who once came in as kids are now bringing their own families.
The employees who once served one generation have watched another generation grow up.
And the tables that once held simple meals have become the setting for decades of stories.
Forty years of C&E Pizza Pasta.
Forty years of serving Ilocanos.
Forty years of being part of the community.
And after everything that has changed, one thing remains the same.
C&E still hits the spot like home.
