This is not the first post I’ve seen about hog raisers being FORCED to sell their pigs at unfairly low prices. Clearly, this is no longer an isolated case, it has become a recurring problem that deserves immediate attention.
Kawawa ang mga backyard farmers. Habang tumataas ang presyo ng feeds sobrang baba naman ng buying price ng mga baboy.
The Department of Agriculture should step in and address this. Part of its mandate is to PROTECT THE WELFARE of our farmers and livestock raisers by promoting FAIR market conditions. Dapat magkaroon ng intervention para hindi naaabuso ang mga local producers.
Kung patuloy na tatanggap ng presyong lugi ang mga hog raisers, lalo lang silang maaabuso ng mga buyers at traders. OUR FARMERS DESERVE FAIR RETURNS FOR THEIR WORK NOT TO BE FORCED INTO SELLING AT A LOSS.
