Why we should consider knowing our roast profile better. ☕️

When we first started involving ourselves in coffee, we believed that bitter and earthy tasting coffee indicated good coffee. However, as we delved deeper into the rabbit hole, we discovered the concept of different roast profiles. We learned that these profiles are tailored to suit various brewing methods and that each roast brings out distinct flavor notes.

This journey taught us that good coffee isn't just one specific flavor but a spectrum of experiences. By understanding roast profiles, we've been able to appreciate and enjoy the diverse and complex world of coffee far more deeply.

Coffee connects people. We spent the weekend with our friends at , , , , .caferoastery , and ._ at the farms in Negros Occidental.

We had an incredible experience hanging out with friends and local farmers, sharing coffee, and showing how different manual brewing methods affect the taste of their hard work. Listening to their stories and the challenges they face, especially with water scarcity due to climate change, was truly eye-opening. It’s amazing to see how Negros Occidental is becoming a sustainable haven for coffee farmers! We’re giddy and can’t wait to share your coffee with the rest of the world!

Did you know? Coffee reaches its peak flavor within the first two weeks post-roast and immediate consumption isn't always ideal? This is because coffee undergoes a crucial degassing process after roasting, where it releases carbon dioxide. Rushing this phase can lead to uneven extraction and a less vibrant flavor profile.
