Some recipes aren't just food — they're history on a plate. 🫘

Hummus has been gracing tables for over 3,000 years, tracing its roots to the ancient kitchens of the Levant — where chickpeas, sesame, and lemon first found each other and never looked back.
The word hummus simply means "chickpeas" in Arabic. What we know and love today — that silky, golden spread — is short for hummus bi tahini: chickpeas with sesame paste.

It appeared in 13th-century Egyptian cookbooks. It fed merchants along the Silk Road. It found its way onto every table that believed good food should slow you down and bring people together.

And now, it's in our kitchen — made the way it was always meant to be. Slow. Intentional. From scratch.

Before it was a menu item, the kebab was a soldier's meal, a shepherd's fire, a roadside ritual shared between strangers. 🔥

The story begins in ancient Persia — warriors cooking meat on their swords over open flame, moving fast, eating well. It spread across the Ottoman Empire and carried itself through every culture it touched: the Turkish bazaar, the Lebanese mountain village, the Moroccan souk at dusk. Each civilization took it, kept it, and added something of their own.

What arrived at Jardin is the sum of all of it.

Lamb Kofta, beef, chicken, and fish — grilled the way it has been grilled for over a thousand years, served over pilaf on the Iloilo Esplanade.

Every dish has an origin story. Kebab is unlike anything else. 🕰️🌍

Long before it graced restaurant tables, kebab was born on the battlefields of the Ottoman Empire — soldiers skewering fresh meat onto their swords, grilling over open fire under vast open skies. A meal born of necessity. A tradition that outlived empires.

At Jardin, we honor that legacy with quality beef tenderloin — seasoned, skewered, and grilled to smoky, tender perfection. Served alongside charred grilled vegetables, golden fries, fluffy pilaf rice, and cool, creamy Tzatziki to bring it all together.
