A Lesson in Faith from Yesterday’s Event
Yesterday, we joined the Cebu Light Fun Run for a Cause at MEPZ, Lapu-Lapu City.
The first run was scheduled at 5:00 AM, but we arrived at the venue almost 1:00 AM because we still needed to set up our coffee booth. By around 2:00 AM, everything was ready—the coffee mobile, equipment, electricity, and coffee machine.
It started well. We got orders for an espresso and a couple of hot lattes. Around 3:00 AM, we received a few more orders for coffee and cookies. After that… nothing.
4:00 AM came. No orders.
5:00 AM came. Still no orders.
6:00 AM came. Still quiet.
At that point, Cassie and I were honestly feeling discouraged. The event was almost over, and our total sales from 2:00 AM to 6:30 AM were only ₱730.
So we prayed.
We asked Jesus to help us and guide us through the event.
A few moments later, someone ordered a coffee. An espresso became 3 cups of Americano. Then came Spanish Lattes. Then fresh lemonades. Then more participants started coming to our booth.
People kept ordering coffee, cookies, and lemonade.
The best part? We completely sold out our fresh lemonade.
Yesterday reminded me of something simple:
If you’re sad, pray.
If business is slow, pray.
If nobody is buying, pray.
If you’re worried, pray.
Sometimes God doesn’t answer immediately, but He always hears.
What started as disappointment turned into gratitude. My worries were replaced with joy, and I went home thankful for every customer who supported us.
God provides. Always. ☕❤️🙏
