This book fair examines the "Filipinization" of clinical concepts through the lens of children's literature. Rooted in Dr. Luis P. Gatmaitan's advocacy for literacy through children's literature and developed by 4th Year Bachelor of Arts in Literary and Cultural Studies (BALCS) students under the course LCS147: Literature and Medicine, this book fair explores how storytelling and cultural context demystify complex medical principles, confront socio-cultural realities and empower young readers to navigate their own physical well-being.
We invite you this May 20, 2026, from 9:00 AM - 12:00 NN at Coffee Alley, MSU-Gensan to share in the simple, warm wonder of seeing the world once more through a childโs eyes. Ultimately, this book fair demonstrates that communal healing and profound medical insight can be held by the smallest books.
