As someone who loves pairing coffee with a satisfying meal, grabbing a Starbucks Bistro Box is always a must for me. Here are my favorites:

1. Creamy Chicken Tuscan Pasta – ★★★★½ (4.5/5)
Short Review: A rich, indulgent pasta where tender chicken meets a silky Tuscan-style cream sauce—perfect for a comforting, COFFEE pairing.

2. Fusilli Baked Salmon – ★★★★ (4/5)
Short Review: Creamy fusilli topped with baked salmon offers a satisfying, slightly lighter twist while still hearty. According to menus from various Philippine Starbucks outlets, this dish features fusilli in a rich cream sauce with salmon on top.

3. Penne Pesto with Mushroom – ★★★★½ (4.5/5)
Short Review: Creamy pesto sauce and earthy button mushrooms make this an aromatic, herb-forward choice that’s both fresh and comforting. Starbucks’ menu highlights this as a quick yet delicious meal option.

4. Classic Lasagna – ★★★★ (4/5)
Short Review: A traditional, hearty lasagna layered with savory, cheesy goodness. Though Starbucks currently features a plant-based version, past menus described it with meat, béchamel, and mozzarella—classic comfort food all the way.

Final Thoughts
Top Picks: Creamy Chicken Tuscan Pasta and Penne Pesto with Mushroom both score 4.5 stars—one leans rich and savory, the other fresh and herbaceous.
Balanced Choice: Fusilli Baked Salmon offers indulgence without being too heavy, thanks to the added salmon.
Classic Comfort: Classic Lasagna delivers familiar, cheesy satisfaction.

These are my personal favorites from the Starbucks Bistro Box pasta lineup—but everyone has their own go-to comfort dish. Have you tried any of these? Which one is your favorite? Or maybe you have your own top pick that didn’t make my list?

🌟 Balai Kaffa: Cozy Vibes & Comfort Food in Sta. Ana, Manila 🌟

Whether you're in the mood for savory comfort food or sweet, icy drinks, Balai Kaffa offers a laid-back spot to chill, chat, and chow down. Here's our full review from a recent visit:

🍽️ Food Rundown
Daing na Bangus 🐟 Tastes like the classic bangus you'd get from well-known restos. Familiar, but nothing too exciting.

Breaded Pork 🐖 Tender meat wrapped in crispy breading—simple yet satisfying. That crunch gives it a nice upgrade.

Beef Tapa 🥩🔥 Their best-seller for a reason! Juicy, flavorful, and pairs perfectly with garlic rice. A definite win.

🍗 Chicken Wings Showdown
Garlic Parmesan 🧄🧀 Our favorite! Savory and cheesy, though we wish the flavor coated every bite more evenly.

Salted Egg 🥚 Decent, but not as bold as other salted egg wings we've tried. Could use a flavor boost.

🧀 Sides & Pasta
Nachos 🌮 Toppings were generous—but only on top. The base was left bare, which made the flavor uneven.

Fries Overload 🍟🧀🥓 Real potatoes, crispy texture, and loaded with cheese, mayo, and bacon. A snack worth sharing!

Truffle Pasta 🍝🍄 Bacon and mushrooms were plentiful, and the truffle flavor was present—but it lacked that final punch to make it truly indulgent.

☕ Coffee & Frappe Fix
Sea Salt Latte 🌊☕ Strong coffee flavor, but the sea salt didn’t come through enough to balance the sweetness.

Honey Oat Latte 🍯🌾 Earthy and smooth—the oat and honey combo really shines. A unique twist that works!

Spanish Latte 🇪🇸🧊 My friend found it bland after the ice melted. Pro tip: drink it before it waters down!

🍫 Sweet Treats
Butterscotch Frappe 🍬☕ Tastes like your favorite chocolate snack with a hint of coffee. Perfect for sweet tooth cravings!

Oreo Strawberry Cream 🍓🍪 Surprisingly delicious! Oreo and strawberry make a sweet, creamy combo that’s hard to resist.

🥒 Refreshment
Cucumber Lemonade 🍋🥒 Light and refreshing—not too sweet, and the cucumber flavor is clean and crisp. Great for cooling down.

💁‍♀️ Customer Service & Ambiance
Service Experience 🕰️ The cashier wait time was a bit long—possibly because she was multitasking with the kitchen crew. Still, she was friendly and accommodating, which made up for the delay.

Serving Time 🍽️ Surprisingly fast! We didn’t wait long for the food. However, the drinks sat a bit too long, and the ice melted, making some of them taste bland.

Ambiance & Space 🪴☕ The café has a charming alfresco area—perfect for those who prefer fresh air over A/C. The second floor offers extra seating, though the overall space is cozy and best suited for quick coffee stops or casual hangouts.

🌈 Final Thoughts
Balai Kaffa is a hidden gem for late-night bites and chill coffee sessions. While a few dishes could use a flavor boost and the drinks need quicker serving, the friendly vibe and solid food lineup make it a spot worth visiting. Whether you're here for the tapa or the frappe, you'll leave with a full belly and a relaxed mood.

🕙 OPEN DAILY | 10AM – 3AM
Visited around 7PM and wow 😲—this place was jam-packed! Great to see the buzz, but due to the high volume of customers, wait time was a bit long. Understandable for a newly opened spot, but hopefully service improves as they settle in. 🙏

☕ Coffee Selections – Hit or Miss
- Salted Caramel Latte
👎 Sadly, didn’t live up to its name. My friend couldn’t taste the salted caramel at all—it leaned more towards a milky blend. Could be better if the flavor is more pronounced.
- Sea Salt Latte
🫤 This one didn’t quite deliver either. The coffee flavor was muted, and the sea salt—which should’ve given a nice contrast—was barely there. Needs a bolder profile.
- Biscoff Tiramisu
✅ This was the highlight! Coffee was strong (in a good way!) and the sweetness of the tiramisu balanced it out well. You can really taste the biscoff. Solid choice! 👌
- Ube Flan Frappe
🤔 Tasted more like taro than ube. Not necessarily bad, but the flavor didn’t match the expectation. A bit of tweaking would help!
- Apple Refreshment (name slipped our minds!)
🍎 Refreshing and kid-friendly, but nothing memorable. Good for those who prefer something light and fruity.

🍽️ Food – Surprisingly Satisfying!
We weren’t expecting much from the food side, but we were pleasantly surprised! 👏
- Kare-Kare
😍 Loved this! Crispy pork and delicious sauce. Just wish the serving size was more generous and had more veggies for the price.
- Caldereta
💯 Beef was tender, rich in flavor, and saucy! Good value considering beef prices these days.
- Pork Sisig
🔥 Flavorful and delicious. Could tell margarine was used, which some may not love—but it worked! Would order again.
- Garlic Parmesan Wings
🥴 A bit too salty, but still edible. Chicken was tender and juicy though!
- Party Platter (also forgot the name)
🍗🧀 Great variety—mojos, fries, chicken poppers, onion rings! Loved the 3 dips: garlic ranch, ketchup, and a cheesy mayo (yes, it had a cheesy twist!). Perfect for sharing!

📝 Overall Thoughts
The place has huge potential and a beautiful concept. ✨
🔄 Room for improvement:
Coffee flavor balance needs tweaking.
Wait time can be improved, maybe with better order flow or staffing.
Price-to-serving ratio for some dishes could be better.
Still, for a newly opened café, it’s a decent start! Hoping to see improvements in the next few months. Will definitely give it another try soon! 💪☕

📸 Perfect for group hangouts, late-night cravings, and coffee dates. Let’s support local—just don’t forget to manage expectations (for now). 😅

We recently discovered this cozy little spot called Dapit-Hapon Cafe & Bistro, and here’s our honest take! 👇

✨ Drinks:
☕ Iced Salted Caramel – Their bestseller for a reason! 🧊 A smooth blend with just the right punch of coffee ☕ balanced out by a sweet caramel touch 🍬 (a bit too sweet for some, but the coffee keeps it from being overwhelming). Definitely a must-try! ✅

🍵 Iced Matcha Latte – This one was a bit of a miss 😅. The matcha seemed under-whisked, giving a powdery/grainy texture 💨, but we appreciated the authentic bitter note of the matcha coming through. With a bit more finesse, this could be a great drink! 💚

🍽 Food:
🌿 Pesto Pasta – A familiar and comforting choice. While it didn’t offer anything particularly unique, it had that classic pesto flavor that fans of the dish will enjoy. Great for those who like to stick to tried-and-tested favorites. 🍝💚

🌮 Nachos – Now this was a hit! 🔥 Generous toppings – beef, salsa, and loads of cheese 🧀. Perfect for sharing with barkada as a light snack or pulutan-style picka-picka. 🥳💬

Overall Vibe: Chill spot for students or anyone wanting to relax after a long day. Might come back to try other drinks and dishes. 👍

⭐ Rating: 3.5/5
➡️ Great drinks (with some room for improvement), decent food, and friendly ambiance. Worth a visit if you’re in the area!

☕ Èl latte – A Cozy Hideout in Taft You Shouldn’t Miss! 🥐

If you’re around Taft, Manila, and looking for a place to chill, study, or catch up with friends, let me put you on to a hidden gem.

From the moment we stepped in on a Friday afternoon, the café’s cozy and relaxed vibe instantly won us over. 🧸🌿 It’s got that perfect blend of quiet enough for study or work, but still inviting for casual catch-ups. Plus, word is they have a bigger space upstairs — something to check out next time! 👀🪜

🥤 What We Ordered:
Biscoff Latte
Sea Salt Matcha Latte
Biscoff Croissant
(We wanted to try the Bolognese Pasta 🍝 but sadly, all pasta options were out of stock. The staff did mention they could prepare it if we waited around 30–45 minutes ⏳ — maybe next time!)

🌟 Drink Review:
☕ Biscoff Latte – Loved the concept, and it’s definitely worth the price! 💸 That said, we wish it packed a stronger biscoff punch because the coffee flavor dominated a bit too much. Still good — but could be better with more of that caramelized cookie goodness! 🍪

🍵 Sea Salt Matcha Latte – A surprise HIT! 💥 The sea salt beautifully balanced the earthy matcha, making each sip feel like a little luxury. Creamy, not too sweet, and just the right kick — 10/10 would order again. 🧂🍃

🥐 Biscoff Croissant – Honestly? To. Die. For. 🔥 The biscoff filling was generous and rich, and the croissant itself was soft and flaky. Easily the highlight of the visit for us! 🤤💯

🍴 Food Options:
They offer a variety of drinks (coffee & non-coffee) which is great, but their food menu is a bit limited. We hope they expand it soon — or maybe just keep that pasta well-stocked 😅

💭 Final Thoughts:
Él Latte Coffee is a great go-to café in Taft if you're after a relaxed and homey atmosphere 🌤️. Perfect for:
📚 Group studies
💻 Working sessions
🗨️ Chill conversations
We’ll definitely be back — especially for that second-floor space and another round of matcha & croissants! 🥰

📌 Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5)
More biscoff flavor and stocked food options would make this a full 5 stars! ⭐

We recently visited Stepphanie's Cafe Taft and it was such a great experience! 💯

Stepphanie’s Cafe is a cozy, budget-friendly café in One Archer’s Place along Taft Avenue. It’s known for a chill atmosphere, Wi-Fi (for patrons), and affordable prices (often under ₱200). Convenient opening hours make it a popular hangout, especially among students.

☕ Iced Caramel Macchiato – Super refreshing! The balance between the coffee, milk, and caramel was just right. Not overly sweet, and you can still enjoy the espresso kick. Perfect for a caffeine fix! 🧊✨

🍵 Matcha Latte – I honestly didn’t expect much, but wow 😲 it was surprisingly good! It had that rich, earthy matcha taste and was blended so smoothly with milk. Creamy and satisfying! 🌿💚

🍝 Pesto Pasta – One of the highlights! The pasta was cooked al dente and the pesto sauce had a rich, herby flavor that coated every bite. It was flavorful without being overwhelming. So good! 😋🍃

🌮 Tuna Quesadilla – Another must-try! We literally devoured it. The tuna and cheese combo was perfectly balanced – creamy, savory, and toast to perfection. 🧀🐟🔥
💬 Overall, Stepphanie’s Cafe offers cozy vibes, great food and drinks, and it’s all budget-friendly! Highly recommend it for students or anyone around the area looking for a chill spot to eat or study. 🪑📶💸

Located along the bustling stretch of Taft Avenue in Malate, Manila, Calle Cafe by Don Gabriel - Taft stands out as a cozy, nature-inspired coffee spot popular among students and professionals. Open daily from 8 AM to 2 AM, it's a go-to destination for those looking for a laid-back space to study, work, or catch up with friends—thanks to its spacious layout, fast Wi-Fi, and abundance of power outlets.

☕️During our visit, we ordered three iced beverages: Spanish Latte, Caramel Macchiato, and Cafe Latte. All three were surprisingly flavorful for their price point. Each sip delivered a well-balanced blend of aroma and taste that felt thoughtfully crafted—definitely not your run-of-the-mill iced coffee.

🍝🍰For food, we tried the Carbonara, which was deliciously creamy and rich in flavor. However, the price point felt slightly steep considering the portion. We also had the Nachos, which had potential but fell short in ex*****on. While the toppings were tasty, we felt that the layering could’ve been better—adding beef, onions, tomatoes, and cheese throughout every layer (instead of just on top) would’ve made a big difference in overall flavor and value

🫐We ended our meal with a slice of Blueberry Cheesecake. Unlike the dense and overly sweet versions from other cafes, this one was lighter in texture and not too sweet. While it wasn’t the highlight of the meal, it was still enjoyable and edible—just don’t expect a standout dessert.

Recommendations
✅ Must-try drinks: Spanish Latte and Cafe Latte (iced)
✅ Food to try: Carbonara (worth a splurge if you're craving pasta)
🔄 Suggestions for improvement:
Add more even layering for nacho toppings to enhance flavor with every bite
Reconsider pricing for some food items to better match portion size and presentation
Cheesecake could benefit from slight improvements in texture for a more indulgent finish

📍 Address: 2510 Taft Avenue, Malate, Manila
🕗 Operating Hours: Open daily from 8:00 AM – 2:00 AM

Calle Cafe is a solid choice if you're in the Taft area and looking for good coffee, a relaxing ambiance, and a place to study or hang out. While there’s room for improvement in some food offerings, the drinks and vibe make it worth a visit.

Whether you're cramming for an exam or just craving a chill caffeine fix, Coffee Spot - One Archers Taft Manila is a cozy little haven right in the heart of Taft. Quiet, clean, and student-friendly—this café is built for both study sessions and catch-ups.

🧋 Iced Spanish Latte
Smooth, creamy, and lightly sweet with that espresso kick—perfectly balanced and super refreshing. A must-try if you're into rich yet mellow coffee.
🍵 Iced Matcha Latte
Vibrant, earthy, and just the right amount of sweetness. The matcha flavor shines through, and the ice-cold creaminess made it incredibly satisfying.

⭐ Truffle Pasta (Best Seller)
A real standout! The pasta was aldente, with that luxurious truffle flavor fully coming through—fragrant, flavorful, and filling. Definitely worth the hype.
🥐 Biscoff Croffle
Visually tempting but fell a little flat. While the croffle itself had good texture, the melted ice cream and whipped cream overpowered the biscoff flavor. You expected that caramelized cookie punch, but it got lost in the mix. Still, not a single crumb was left—so it wasn’t a total miss!

Coffee Spot delivers on drinks and pasta, making it a solid pick for students and café crawlers alike. While the croffle didn’t quite hit the sweet spot, the iced lattes and truffle pasta more than made up for it.

We recently visited Mabuhay Tea House along Pablo Ocampo Street in Malate, and it’s definitely one of those calm, tucked-away cafés that’s perfect for a slow afternoon. Set inside a heritage building near the Fo Guang Shan Mabuhay Temple, it offers a peaceful environment—great for studying, catching up with friends, or even small events.

☕ Drinks
Spanish Latte – A good balance of coffee and milk, with a clean finish. Smooth and not too sweet—very easy to enjoy.
Salted Caramel Frappe – Surprisingly well-balanced. The salt cuts through the sweetness just right, making it flavorful without being overwhelming.
🍽 Food
Margarita Pizza (Thin Crust) – The crust was light and crispy, but the tomato flavor slightly overpowered everything else. Could use a bit more cheese or herbs for balance.
Lasagna – Decent, but underwhelming. A richer sauce or a sprinkle of parmesan would really help enhance the flavor.
Vegetarian Palabok – The standout dish. It had a generous mix of ingredients that added a nice crisp texture. Flavorful and satisfying—highly recommended.
🥐 Pastry
Ensaymada Croissant – A creative twist, but it fell a bit flat in ex*****on. The croissant lacked that soft, pillowy interior and flakey texture you'd expect. It was also a bit dense, and unfortunately, the cheese on top didn’t melt properly when reheated, which made it feel a bit unfinished. With better preparation, this could be a strong menu item.
🪑 Ambiance & Service
The space is serene, tastefully designed, and ideal for a quiet coffee session. Staff were polite and attentive. It’s clear this place was built with care and intention.

📍 640 P.Ocampo St., Malate, Pasay City, 1306 Metro Manila
🕐 Monday - Closed
Tuesday to Sunday - 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

Mabuhay Tea House is a beautiful spot for those looking for vegetarian-friendly food and a peaceful place to recharge. The drinks and palabok stood out, while some of the other dishes and pastries could benefit from more refinement. Still, it’s definitely a café worth trying—especially if you're after something different from the usual coffee chain experience.

03/08/2025

Tucked along the bustling stretch of Taft Avenue, Dreyz Cafe offers a surprisingly peaceful haven for students and professionals looking to relax, get some work done, or enjoy a solid cup of coffee paired with Japanese comfort food.

🛋️ Ambience
The place is quiet and cozy, with a minimalist, no-fuss vibe that’s ideal for casual catch-ups or solo productivity. It’s not your usual café that screams aesthetic overload—this one is more about low-key charm and comfort. The quiet atmosphere makes it a great place to read or study. While there’s no public mention of Wi-Fi or outlet availability, the calm ambiance already puts it ahead of many busier cafés nearby.

🍽️ What We Ordered
☕️Spanish Latte
The coffee had a bold and robust flavor—perhaps a little strong for those who prefer a milder brew, but a solid choice if you like your coffee with punch. The sweetness from the milk was subtle, allowing the coffee’s strength to shine.
🍥Volcano Roll
This one stole the show. It's umami-rich, flavorful, and absolutely to die for. The texture and flavor profile hit the mark for sushi lovers looking for a satisfying bite.

🥩AUD Tapa
While the taste was decent, the serving size was quite small, especially for the price. It might leave you wanting more if you're looking for a filling rice meal.

🍚🍥California Roll & Gyudon
Both dishes delivered. The California roll was fresh and balanced, while the gyudon had a comforting, homey flavor—nothing too extravagant, but still a well-executed, satisfying meal.

📍 2/F, 2472 Leon Guinto St, Malate, 1004 Metro Manila
🕐Open Everyday from 11AM to 11PM.

Will definitely go back for the Seared Salmon Belly and Katsu Curry. Will also try Iced Popcorn Latte if available.

We recently visited Reserved Cafe and Restaurant in GMA, Cavite, and it turned out to be a cozy and enjoyable spot. Here’s a quick breakdown of our experience:

☕ Drinks & Coffee
We tried the Vanilla Latte and Java Chip Frappe — both were really good! The Vanilla Latte had a smooth, balanced flavor, while the Java Chip Frappe was rich and refreshing. Perfect for a warm day or a chill hangout.

🍟 Food
Cheesy Bacon Fries 🧀🥓 – Crispy, flavorful, and definitely a favorite. A great snack to share!
Seafood Marinara 🍝 – Served with a generous portion of pasta, which was great, but the sauce was a bit too sour for my taste. Those who enjoy tangy pasta might like it more.
Sisig Meal 🍳 – My husband said it tasted like your typical sisig — nothing particularly unique, but still good and satisfying for those who prefer rice meals.

🛋️ Ambience
The café has a cozy and chill atmosphere, perfect for relaxing, studying, or hanging out with friends. One fun feature: they offer board games 🎲 which makes the experience even better!

A great local café with good coffee, generous food portions, and a welcoming vibe. While some dishes can be improved taste-wise, it’s still worth a visit — especially if you're looking for a laid-back place in GMA to unwind, eat, or play a few games with friends. 🌿☕🍽️
