Did you know that the the word dimsum comes from the Cantonese word 點心, which can translate to "touching (the) heart". These small bite-sized dishes were originally made as a means of complementing tea, but has since become a staple favorite that has touched the hearts and appetites of people not just in China and its neighboring countries, but all over the world.

This Valentines Day, whether big or small, grand or simple, planned or spontaneous, it's good to be reminded that it's not always the size of the gift or gesture, but the thought behind it. It may not always be about what you prepare for this occassion, but the little things you do throughout the year that in a way touches the heart of those you care about.

With Chinese New Year just a few days away, we are excited to announce that our delicious chinese lumpia will be back on our menu for a limited time only on Friday, February 12. It will be available for dine-in and take-out orders only, and cannot be ordered via Grab.

The chinese lumpia is available in limited quantities so order yours early.

Good day, fellow Dumagueteños. We hope you are keeping safe and healthy in spite of the Covid19 situation the last few weeks.

Howyang Cuisine is happy to announce that we will be reopening tomorrow, May 18. Yes, your childhood Dumaguete favorites and flavors (burgers, siopao and siomai, etc) are back this GCQ!

In line with social distancing procedures, we will only be servicing take-out orders (for pick-up only) with prior orders/reservations. All of our usual menu (except for a few items) will be available to order. You may order your Howyang favorites by calling our landline at 422-1717; we will be open Mondays to Saturdays, from 10am to 5pm.

To ensure that we can provide as safe an environment as we can when you pick up your orders from us, please call ahead of time as only a limited number of people will be allowed into our premises at a time. Please also allot at least 30 minutes to 1 hour prep time for your orders, and at least 3 hours for large orders, as we are working with minimal kitchen staff.

We thank you for your patience and understanding in such a difficult time. And we look forward to serving you once again with your tasty Dumaguete favorites.
