Our first Kaiju Convention—and what an experience it was! 💙👾
IWB’s first time at Kaiju Convention 2026 was a success, but for us, it was about more than serving food. It was an opportunity to bring our advocacy into the community and raise autism awareness in a way that was creative, fun, and meaningful.
And that’s how Spectra—our Kaiju in the Spectrum—came to life.
Spectra was created with intention. His different traits were inspired by common traits and sensory experiences associated with autism. Even his eyes were deliberately drawn with that familiar side-looking gaze, reflecting how some autistic individuals may find direct eye contact difficult or uncomfortable.
Spectra may be a Kaiju, but behind the character is a message we hope people will remember:
We all experience and interact with the world differently—and those differences deserve understanding and acceptance. 💙
Of course, we couldn’t join a Kaiju Convention without creating something special for the menu! 🍔🍟
We created a limited-edition Kaiju Meal—Kaiju Burger + Kaiju Fries, featuring Japanese-inspired flavours to complete the Kaiju experience.
And we SOLD OUT! 🎉
Thank you to everyone who came by, tried the Kaiju Meal, met Spectra, asked about our advocacy, and supported IWB.
And to the people who made everything happen on the ground—William, Cindy, Allan, Mary Ann, and Raymond—thank you. 💙
We may do much of the planning and managing here in Toronto, but you are the ones who turn those plans into reality. From shopping for ingredients, tasting and perfecting the Kaiju Meal, preparing everything, creating the visuals, setting up, selling the meals, talking to people about IWB, and cleaning up afterward—you carried our vision from beginning to end.
A special shout-out to Raymond, the artist who took what I had visualized for Spectra and brought him to life so beautifully. Seeing an idea in my head become an actual character representing IWB’s advocacy was something truly special.
And congratulations to the entire team for surviving our first Kaiju Convention with all body parts intact—and, most importantly, no skirmishes. 😂👾
This event also represents an important step for IWB.
We’re taking IWB out into the community, instead of staying in just one location. Every event gives us another opportunity to meet people who may never have heard of us, introduce them to our advocacy, and hopefully create a little more awareness and understanding of autism.

Events like this give us a space not only to share our food and creativity, but also to bring our advocacy to people beyond our usual community.
