The Philippines has truly been tested these past weeks—earthquakes in the south, Mayon and Taal stirring, relentless floods, and now back-to-back typhoons tearing through communities. Hearts are heavy, homes are lost, and yet in the midst of it all, your words ring true: **God is mercifully loud when His people have grown deaf.**
Let Sunday be what it was always meant to be: a day of kneeling, not shouting; of confession, not accusation, of Holy Rosaries in hand, not placards.
Instead of noise in the streets, let there be silence in churches packed with souls crying out: “Have mercy on us, Lord. Heal our land. Convert our hearts.”
To everyone reading this:
- Fast if you can.
- Attend Mass with contrite hearts. Go to Confession.
- Offer Holy Communion as reparation for the sins of our nation—pride, corruption, division, the slaughter of the unborn, the neglect of the poor.
- Pray the Rosary in families, in parishes, in public if possible.
Our Lady of Penafrancia, Our Lady of Manaoag, Mother of the Philippines—intercede for us.
St. Lorenzo Ruiz, St. Pedro Calungsod—pray for us.
“Return to Me with your whole heart…” (Joel 2:12)
Let this be the moment we finally come home.
The Philippines will rise again—not by politics, but by prayer that moves the Heart of God.
