WCN Unveils Two Ultra-HD Versions of Puppy Love Ahead of 2026 Premiere

CEBU CITY — Fans of Puppy Love have another reason to get excited. WCN has officially announced that the highly anticipated Puppy Love movie pilot and its upcoming 16-episode drama series will be released in two distinct viewing formats, giving audiences the freedom to enjoy the story across both mobile devices and home entertainment systems.
According to indie auteur Rod Maceda, the production has been designed with two separate versions in 1080p Ultra-HD: a 9:16 Vertical Drama Series optimized for smartphones and a 16:9 Full HD widescreen edition created for televisions and larger displays.
But the difference goes beyond the aspect ratio.
Rod Maceda revealed that each version has been edited independently, featuring unique framing and camera compositions tailored to the viewing platform. The vertical edition is specifically optimized for mobile phone screens, while the widescreen version delivers a cinematic experience for viewers watching on large flat-screen televisions, including 65-inch displays.
"I want to make it very compatible for all viewers. If they prefer watching on their mobile phones, then they have the Vertical Drama Series version. And if they want to spend time binge-watching with their family or friends at home, then it's cool to watch it on a big flat screen like a 65-inch TV," Maceda said.
Adding to its international appeal, Puppy Love will feature its original Cebuano-Bisaya audio alongside subtitles in English, Spanish, Russian, Turkish, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Bahasa Indonesia, and Vietnamese, allowing audiences from different parts of the world to experience the story in their preferred language.
Each format will also have its own dedicated WCN Pay-Per-View (PPV) Telegram channel, giving viewers the flexibility to choose the version best suited to their preferred screen.
The Puppy Love movie pilot is scheduled to premiere on WCN PPV in 2026, serving as the introduction to the story before the launch of its 16-episode regular drama series later in the year.
With separate edits crafted for both vertical and widescreen viewing, Puppy Love aims to offer two distinct visual experiences while bringing the same heartfelt story to audiences at home and on the go.
Leading the cast of Puppy Love are two of Cebu's promising young talents, Alyssa and Kiel Rosales, joined by Hanna Remorosa and Venus Je in key roles.
The production also features a notable lineup of veteran performers making special appearances, including GMA Network Kapuso actress Eliza Sarmiento, respected Cebuano actor Alex Ilaya, and former RPN 9 documentary television actress Jinkee Vertosio, adding depth and experience to the ensemble.
Rounding out the principal cast are Harry Medway as Andrei, Christian Mankikis as Ice, Shyne Bedrijo as Annie, Venice Loyzaga as Gia, Janelle Kathleen as Maxene, and Rod Maceda, who also serves as the project's writer and director, portraying Kaloy.
Completing the ensemble are the film's lovable animal stars, Tofu the cat and Bechay the pig, appearing as themselves and bringing an extra dose of charm to the heartfelt drama.
With a cast that combines emerging young artists with seasoned screen veterans, Puppy Love promises an engaging mix of fresh performances and established talent when the movie pilot premieres on WCN PPV in 2026, ahead of its 16-episode regular drama series.
