This is a family recipe we’ve had since 2004, one that so many of you grew up with and have loved through the years.

Even when we stopped making it, a lot of you kept asking about it… and honestly, that meant so much to us. 🤍

Even in uncertain times, when every peso matters more than ever, we’ve been noticing something really meaningful. 🤍

So many of you have come and ask us to pack Barqui for family, for friends, or for someone you simply thought of.

And it never goes unnoticed. Because in a season where it’s easier to hold back, you still choose to give.

Maybe that’s what makes us Filipino— we always make space for others.

The past two weeks have been literally the busiest and most meaningful days for us. 🤍

From our soft opening to the overwhelming support during Big Bite, we’re sooooo grateful to everyone who visited and supported us. Thank you for showing up. 🥹

Behind the scenes, we were going through it all with an almost entirely new team... learning as we went, adjusting each day, and simply doing our best to keep up. It wasn’t always perfect, but by God’s grace, we made it through.

Through it all, we held on to one thing—that what we serve should always feel like home.

Now, we’re slowly shifting into a season of improving.
We’re taking things one step at a time—working on our dine-in menu, our space, and the experience we want to create for you.

We know we still have a lot to improve, but we’re committed to becoming better—for you, while keeping that same feeling of home in everything we serve.

No fancy poster for our 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬 𝗦𝗼𝗳𝘁 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 announcement ☺️

I just really want to honor the people behind it all — the ones who built our shop + café + kitchen. 🙌

To be honest, I couldn't afford to hire a contractor, architect, or interior designer because I was on a super tight budget. I wasn’t even sure how everything would come together… but these men made the whole process less difficult for me.

I was super amazed how men from different expertise (masonry, carpentry, painting, welding etc.) complement each other to build what is now the home of Barqui. And watching them work, you can really see the heart and pride they have in what they do.

I learned a lot from them too, especially from kuya foreman's leadership. And it’s something I’ll carry with me as I continue to lead Treats by Kit.

This space is special to me not just because it’s ours, but because of the people who helped build it.

May God bless the work of their hands!

Ahh… I’m really not good at keeping secrets. 🤭I’ve been itching to share that:

our soon-to-open shop will be right beside our kitchen, so you’ll get a little glimpse of how every Barqui is made. When you visit, it won’t just feel like a shop — it will feel like we’re welcoming you into the home of Barqui.

And… we actually have another surprise coming. I’m trying my best not to spill it just yet. Stay tuned Barqui people!
