STATEMENT ON TODAY’S BOMB THREAT HOAX
November 23, 2025

Our University has received another bomb threat earlier today. After careful and thorough panelling conducted by the Philippine National Police, the campus has been cleared of any security risk and declared safe.

This comes after the University’s coordinated response with the local government, law enforcement, and emergency teams to a similar threat last week, during which all buildings and surrounding areas of MMSU were fully inspected. No actual threat was found then, and none was found today.

With the campus now considered secure, face-to-face classes and on-site work across all MMSU campuses will resume tomorrow, November 24, 2025. As part of our preventive measures, all students, employees, and visitors are asked to submit themselves and their belongings for inspection at campus entry points. Wearing of University IDs will be required at all times.

We thank our students, faculty, and staff for their patience and cooperation during the precautionary response. We also acknowledge our security and emergency partners for their swift and professional action.

Should another threat arise, we ask everyone to remain calm, alert, and guided by official instructions. Our emergency teams have established clear evacuation procedures to ensure everyone’s safety.

MMSU strongly condemns all bomb threats, whether directed at our institution or at any school in the country. Universities exist to advance learning, discovery, and open dialogue—principles targeted by acts meant to intimidate or cause fear. We call on everyone to reject all forms of violence and any attempt to sow chaos. # #
