Born in Hanoi, 1946, during a milk shortage, Egg Coffee (Cà Phê Trứng) was the brilliant invention of bartender Nguyen Van Giang at the Sofitel Metropole Hotel.

He whisked egg yolks with sugar and condensed milk to create a rich, frothy cream – then poured it over bold Vietnamese coffee.

The result was so delicious that Giang left the hotel to open Café Giang – where his family still serves the same legendary recipe today. 🥚✨
