“Agara” is not exactly a Japanese word, however, we we’re attracted to the word ”A-ga-ra” which are very strong syllables. But also because in the local dialect when you say “Agara Ramen” real fast it sound like “agraraman” which means ambitious in Ilocano. Agara Ramen is an aspirational brand and a very ambitious venture but mostly it comes from a humbled and deep passion for ramen noodles.

Just like ramen, our reason is simple, down-to-earth and on point. We wanted to serve people something that is deeply satisfying and gives value to their money. A ramen dish so good that everyone can almost eat it every day.

Ray Costa, the head Agara Ramen Master, wanted to share his passion for ramen by making it available and affordable to his hometown, Baguio City. His experience with ramen while staying and working in Tokyo, Japan with her mother inspired him to learn and explore more about the dish and its culture. His commitment to create an amazing and filling dining experience in every ramen bowl that is served at Agara Ramen rooted from his personal experience and fandom for ramen - a true filipino ramen head.

Agara Ramen belongs to the married business duo Ray Costa and Keith Ann Costa (Team Costa). They are also the people behind 2600 Gastropub, Heneral Barber Shop, and Chiqueen located at PNR and Lower QM.
