Our new menu is out & this queen is in our Sandwich Selections!

She packs a punch and will keep you full the entire day. ✨✨✨

We slathered on our homemade liver pâté on one side of our mini baguette and our garlic mayo on the other then layered it with atsara (pickled veggies), fresh watercress and our famous Baguio Bagnet.

You just HAVE to try it. It’ll definitely be one of your favorites soon. 💢😎

The season has been tumultuous. The skies have been pouring down rain so much, the weather has been slightly unpredictable and the air has been getting cooler.

We all need a little natural boost for our immune system, so when you stop by the Cafe, ask our friendly servers for the Tamarindo.

It’s rich in vitamin C, potassium, magnesium, and iron, so it’s the perfect glass of deliciousness to help us stay healthy. Its tartness wakes us up, and the salted rim brings a little fun to the drink, giving that chilled tropical vibe of a margarita without the alcohol.

Have you tried a tamarind slush before?

Christine's Crepe-- another world famous dish with our family recipe twist. Named after our late Cafe partner who's great grandfather bought the property the ruins stand on. ✨🤍
This crepe brings freshness, only filled with the season’s freshest fruits and layered with our homemade lemon curd. Honestly, it’s just how a crepe should be. Simple, elegant, and delicious.

Our own take on the famous spring rolls🍴🫓. Inside the crispy lumpia wrapping is shredded tinapang bangus intertwined with fresh basil leaves and local kesong puti. A delectable appetizer and yet so filling you can order a side of rice to go with this dish!🥢💢

We also sell the kesong puti at our deli section for you to take home and try different recipes with. Ask our service crew for assistance. 🤍

Referred to as G*i Haw Bai Toey in Thai or Ayam Pandan in Malaysia, both mean chicken wrapped in pandan leaves. While the leaves aren’t eaten, they do add flavour to the meat – especially when fried. The leaves also help to hold in the chicken juices and keep the meat nice and tender.

There’s a term for that inexplainable need for something cold during cold weather.

It’s called, “cold pleasure”. The cold sensations are perceived in our brains as thirst quenchers—cold water is more preferred over warm. On a cold day, we may be wrapped up and warm but our tongues tend to crave something cooling—hence that urge to have something cold like ice cream which tricks our brain into thinking it’s satiating our thirst.

We made an iced version of our Ruins Coffee for those that prefer cold beverages over hot or warm. Add that plump coffee jelly on top of the rich cream and you’ve got sensory pleasure in a glass.

Today is Baguio’s Charter Day—the Summer Capital of the Philippines and the City of Pines.

A Cordilleran city derived from the word bagiw—in Ibaloi means “moss”.

Our homemade Tinapang Bangus.🎣 The perfect Filipino breakfast—we serve our portions with a whole fish, a hefty cup of mountain rice, salted egg-tomato salad, and a bowl of fresh fruits of the season! Phewf!

Did you know ❔there’s a difference between, tinapa, daing, tuyo and buwad? And no, they’re not TYPES of fish but a type of preparation of preserving different kinds of fish.

Tinapa is the process of smoking the fish in order to preserve and to complement the flavors of the fish (usually galunggong or bangus). Whilst daing, tuyo or buwad is the process of sun drying the fish. Daing and tuyo is the term commonly used in Luzon while buwad is commonly used in the Visayas & Mindanao islands. 🌏

So, if you’re looking for a FILLING choice for your early morning adventures, ask for this from our wait staff. 🤍🍴☕️🤤

Day 2: Cafe By The Ruins and Strawberry Farm🍓😋
🏫 Cafe By The Ruins
📍 25 Shuntug Rd, Baguio, Benguet.

𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐄𝐀𝐓 𝐈𝐍 𝐁𝐀𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐎 ‼️ Let’s talk about food! Fact: most of what we did in Baguio involved eating, lol. And honestly, we couldn’t recall of an instance when we got disappointed with what’s on the table.

⚡️ SAVE THIS POST if you’re planning to go to Baguio ⚡️

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝟏 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐨 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲:

✅ GoodTaste Restaurant - Otek Branch: one of our faves, super sulit! Get the Buttered Chicken and the Beef Broccoli. (We visited Rajah Matanda Branch)

✅ Baguio Craft Brewery: food was wonderful and strawberry beer was the best. Order the Chicken Skin and grilled platter or something — best with beer!

✅ Canto bogchi joint: happy we got in fast, line was usually long in this place. Get the Lomo Ribs and Chicken Pastel.

✅ Nanyang Philippines in SM City Baguio (official): Good service, for sure. Order the Laksa (definitely) and the Nasi Lemak.

✅ Via Von Joy Restaurant & Cafe: A bit out of Baguio, but we had one of our best meals here. Get Rebecca’s Special, the Karekare, and Bulalo.

✅ Vizco's Restaurant and Cake Shop Baguio City: Definitely order the Strawberry Cake and pair it with Coffee or Tea. Get the Chocolate Cake, too.

✅ Lemon and Olives: Good view and pet-friendly. Order the Souvlaki Plate, Pulpo, Kebab, and Pomegranate Salad.

✅ Choco-late de Batirol: Good breakfast spot, highly recommended. Order the Bibingka, Tsokolate, Arroz Caldo, and any Silog.

✅ Cafe By The Ruins: Always a favorite. We love the Kamote bread paired with Liver Pate. Make you order to-go for pasalubong! Get also the Bagnet and the Turon, too.

✅ Baguio Night Market: I mean, c'mon. The night market is easily one of our faves. And if you haven’t been, we suggest you go!

There are a lot of restaurants we wanted to go to but couldn’t since they are not pet-friendly and we were with Arya.

Hopefully, they change their policy in the future or at least ease it up a bit so paw-rents like us can dine-in with our fur-babies.
