The Department of Public Works and Highways – Cordillera Administrative Region (DPWH-CAR) informs the public that 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬, 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐟𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞.
This closure serves as 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙚𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙏𝙮𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙣 “𝙐𝙬𝙖𝙣” (Fung-Wong) and is in consideration of the raised 𝙏𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙮𝙘𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙒𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙞𝙜𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙉𝙤. 3 𝙞𝙣 𝘽𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙪𝙚𝙩 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙚.
It is also implemented upon the recommendation of the Cordillera Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC–CAR) as a safety action in anticipation of heavy and continuous rainfall that may cause landslides and other hazardous incidents along the route.
The temporary closure aims to ensure public safety and minimize risks during adverse weather conditions. 𝙊𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙆𝙚𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙣 𝙍𝙤𝙖𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙙 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙖𝙜𝙚, 𝙨𝙪𝙗𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙘𝙠𝙥𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙨.
Motorists are advised to take the following alternate routes to and from Baguio City:
* 𝘼𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙖𝙨–𝙋𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙨 𝙃𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙬𝙖𝙮 (Marcos Highway)
* 𝙉𝙖𝙜𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝙍𝙤𝙖𝙙 (Quirino Highway)
