Kape Diperensya
Kape Diperensya is a coffee shop conceived in a brainstorming dream collaboration of my father, Ben-Hur G. Villanueva and my late uncle, Roberto G. Villanueva on what name can be given to an art-inspired, out of this world, quaint and yet warm to everybody kind of coffee shop. With all the conceptualizations played by these two brothers, not just by blood but also in art, Kape Diperensya was born. It is perceived to lift up spirits by accommodating everybody with much warmth and sincerity. This is the way to uphold what Kape Diperensya stands for- we value rejects because nobody’s perfect. We use coffee cups without ears, wobbly tables, chipped off plates, so forth and so on because we aim to use creatively, things that are broken and transform them into something new and touched by the magic of art. It also has no structured menu, so we serve what the queen of our family creates in the kitchen for the household. This is our artistically constructive way to put food on the table of the family and others as well. Sharing is a way to express our gratitude to what has been given to our family by the greatest artist that created us. With no chef to prepare food for us and no fancy coffee brewing equipment to make our coffee, we offer what we can give with love from our family. This coffee shop is inside our art gallery which is Arko ni Apo, meaning, Arc of the Lord. Kape Diperensya is love overflown from what was created by the whole family through art. We have conspired with the multiverse that this space be showered with a million folds of creativity and blessings for the inhabitants and the guests as well. We pray that you and I will experience the best days of our lives exchanging “diperensyas” in all aspects of our being for we are destined to connect with each other through our individual eccentricities and accept each other with love and respect. So let’s celebrate our differences by converging in this place. This is Kape Diperensya and this is our home. Welcome!
