Kamias in English is primarily known as bilimbi. Scientifically named Averrhoa bilimbi, this extremely sour, green fruit is also commonly referred to as cucumber tree or tree sorrel. It is a close relative of the starfruit and is widely used in Southeast Asian cuisine as a popular souring agent for dishes like sinigang.
