Sometimes, you donโt realize the real value of insurance until life forces you to.
I want to share the story of one of my clients, Ms. Mau from Davao.
We have never met in person. She found my page, inquired about insurance, and trusted me to be her advisorโentirely through online conversations.
Then came the moment when her policy truly mattered.
July 3: Ms. Mau messaged me, worried about an initial laboratory finding.
July 25: Confirmatory tests diagnosed her with thyroid cancer.
August 14: Coordinating completely online, we gathered every requirement, doctor's report, and claim form, and submitted the critical illness claim to Sun Life.
August 26: The claim was officially approvedโ12 calendar days after submission.
August 27: Just 24 hours later, the claim proceeds were credited directly to her bank account.
From complete submission to money in her account: exactly 13 calendar days.
All while she was in Davao, and we coordinated entirely through our phones.
This is what being a financial advisor means to me.
Itโs never just about getting a policy signed. Itโs about standing by your client when the protection they bought actually has to work.
Distance should never mean a client is left to figure things out on their own. Whether you are a few kilometers away or across the country, my commitment to you is the same. Technology may have connected us, but trust built the relationshipโand dedicated service is how I honor that trust.
Insurance cannot erase a difficult diagnosis.
It cannot remove the fear or emotional weight of battling an illness.
But it can eliminate the financial panic.
To Ms. Mau: Thank you for putting your trust in me. It is an honor to serve and support you through this season.
To everyone reading this:
We donโt get insurance because we expect the worst. We get it so that when life deviates from the plan, our finances don't fall apart.
No matter where you are in the Philippines, you are never too far to be supported. โค๏ธ
