We’ve made three trips to Panama’s coffee regions in 2026, and Bambito Estate Bambito Estate Coffee remained one of our most essential stops. Priscilla Amar Gonzalez Priscilla Amar De Gonzalez walked us through the estate, sharing its profound coffee heritage. We were incredibly fortunate to cup the new harvest lots and bring back our favorite one to share with all of you.

Nestled on the foothills of Volcán Barú between two national forest reserves, Bambito Estate sits at 1,650–1,800 meters in Panama’s Chiriquí Province. The unique mountain microclimate shields coffee trees from harsh summer northern winds, slowing cherry maturation and boosting bean density, which delivers bright acidity and solid cup structure. The estate benefits from natural spring water for irrigation and processing. Of its 15-hectare total land, 10 hectares are planted with coffee, while 5 hectares are preserved as old-growth forest, protecting local biodiversity and sustaining excellent coffee terroir.

Bambito’s profound coffee legacy dates back to the early 1900s. The estate was officially acquired by Priscilla’s grandfather in 1945, beginning the family’s deep, enduring bond with this land. For nearly 30 years, Priscilla and her brother Rafael have jointly managed the estate, and today the family coffee legacy is carried forward by the fourth and fifth generations. Committed to sustainable farming, the estate recycles all coffee pulp and mucilage into organic fertilizer to nourish the soil. It also features a professional greenhouse for coffee genetic resource conservation and a dedicated cupping lab for strict quality control and guest reception.

Beyond crafting exceptional coffee, Bambito Estate devotes itself to giving back to the local community. It regularly provides breakfast for students at the nearby primary school, and hosts festive community gatherings with food and gifts for local residents. Blessed with extraordinary terroir that gifts its coffee remarkable quality, the estate always repays the land and the community with sincere, consistent actions.

Geisha is only four to five percent of Bambito Estate. So the Geisha pickers are paid more per lata, to chase perfect ripeness instead of volume. And nothing leaves the farm before September, because rested coffee tastes better. Slow on the mountain, so it’s worth it in your cup. Bambito Estate Geisha Washed, on the shelf now.
