Well, that’s a wrap!
Our season has concluded this year - time has surely flown and our teenagers now need much more of our time and attention 😭😊

Thank you to our wonderful local community (you rock!), regular visitors, and new visitors for your friendly faces, warm smiles and support this season - we’ve loved welcoming you all to our humble country cafe and gardens 😍

We wish you all the best as the trees start to turn and the weather cools. The last of our summer tomatoes, grapes, figs, feijoas and apples will be available from the roadside stall and in a few more months (well, winter!) our delicious spray free Colenso mandarins will be ready to enjoy & provide a much needed Vitamin C boost!

So what do we do on Wednesdays when we are closed? Aside from grounds work and gardens, we go visiting, make connections and see how we can support and learn from other local businesses.

We are stoked to have NZ raised pork, our bacon this year coming from Meat at the Beach in Whangamata. Steve is an awesome butcher, the dry cured bacon is amazing! Snags are tasty and Steve makes his own Black Pudding. Definitely worth a trip to Whangamata to visit!

Of course, while in Whangamata we had to pop into Coromandel Chocolate - who can resist top quality chocolate! This is bean to bar chocolate, the real deal! Beans are imported from Vanuatu (supporting Pacific growers), lovingly processed and then made into beautiful chocolates - bars, truffles and treats. We met Thomas, chocolate maker and chocolatier- like Steve, a super nice guy and ultra passionate about his craft. This is another must visit!

…guess what we have for dessert tonight… 😋
