Jessie is a wonderful parent coach, author, speaker, and nanny mentor, and she's returning to share more practical, real-life advice and encouragement for parents and caregivers.

✨ Volunteer Spotlight – Meet Sam ✨

Hi, my name is Sam and I have been volunteering at Sanctuary Café since the 20th of February. ☕💛

1️⃣ What made you interested in volunteering at Sanctuary Café?
“I was looking for a place that could provide me with hospitality training, customer service experience, and coffee-making skills. After learning about The Salvation Army and their outreach into the community, I felt a calling to serve as part of the Christian community. It has given me a deeper sense of belonging and purpose to be part of the mission of The Salvation Army.”

2️⃣ What do you enjoy about being part of the team?
“I enjoy being part of a team of believers who speak life into me and encourage me to grow in confidence and mature my skills. It helps me to overcome doubts. I also enjoy feeling more motivated, making connections, and sharing my desires, dreams, and goals while receiving advice and support to achieve them.”

3️⃣ What is your plan for the future?
“My current plan is to start a hobby business and use my crochet skills to create practical and meaningful items. It’s my passion to use my hands to create things that make people happy and have purpose. I love giving to people — that’s where my heart is. I want to use the gifts God has given me to honour Him and serve His people.” 🧶✨
