⚠️ FRENCH BULLDOG BUYERS & BREEDERS — PLEASE BE CAREFUL ⚠️

I want to publicly share my experience dealing with Maikuku - Blue French Bulldogs and Trudy Laird that also are in combination with Bulldogs NZ...

After purchasing my French Bulldog as a breeding prospect for $8,000.
I am sharing this because I don't want another breeder or buyer to find themselves in the same position I did.

I paid the FULL breeding price for my girl — approximately double the pet price — and relied on the DNA information I was provided when making that decision.

After having my girl's FULL DNA profile completed, I discovered information relating to CDDY/IVDD risk that I had NOT been made aware of when I purchased her.

I also discovered that the DNA information I had been shown when purchasing her was NOT the complete, updated DNA information that I believed I was being provided.

And THAT is my biggest issue!!!
If somebody is paying $8,000 for a breeding dog, they deserve COMPLETE and CURRENT DNA information so they can make an informed decision BEFORE handing over their money!!!

I want to be very clear about something:
CDDY does not automatically mean a dog has IVDD, and it does not necessarily mean that dog cannot be bred.
I have since learned MUCH MORE about this myself!

But that does NOT change my disappointment about the information I was given when I purchased my girl or the way my concerns were handled when I raised them!

I originally intended to take this matter to the Disputes Tribunal. I have now decided not to proceed...
Instead, I am putting my experience out there as a WARNING TO OTHER PEOPLE!!!!:

⚠️ DO NOT simply accept screenshots or selected DNA results.

⚠️ ASK FOR THE FULL DNA PROFILE OF BOTH PARENTS.

⚠️ CHECK WHETHER THE TESTING IS CURRENT AND WHETHER ADDITIONAL TESTS HAVE BECOME AVAILABLE.

⚠️ GET EVERYTHING ABOUT BREEDING, DNA AND GUARANTEES IN WRITING.

⚠️ IF YOU ARE PAYING BREEDING PRICE — VERIFY EVERYTHING YOURSELF.

I am extremely disappointed by the lack of empathy and resolution I experienced after raising my concerns to Marika and Trudy!!
I have kept the documentation and correspondence relating to my purchase and the DNA information I was provided..

I'm not asking anyone to attack or harass anybody. I am simply sharing MY EXPERIENCE so other people can make their own informed decisions.

My beautiful girl is loved regardless, and I am grateful that I now understand what her DNA results actually mean.
But I genuinely wish I had been given the complete information from the beginning!!!

PLEASE DO YOUR HOMEWORK. ASK FOR THE FULL DNA. VERIFY IT. AND DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE PAYING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FOR A BREEDING DOG.
