It’s our birthday !
Three years ago,
we opened our doors for the very first time.
It had always been our dream! Since..
When Tony cooked in New Zealand for the very first time. He graduated from cookery school in New Zealand and has been working as a chef ever since. He dreamed of building something he could truly call his own.
While working in Wellington, we met and built a life together, After years of busy hospitality work, we felt it was time for a change.
We wanted to experience a different way of life and find a place we could call home. We first came to Whangarei to meet a friend and We ended up working for a while at an avocado nursery.
It wasn’t supposed to be permanent, but it was enough for us to fall in love with this place. We enjoyed the lifestyle, the community, and the people we met along the way. We realised this was the place where we wanted to start our next chapter.
We decided to build the business we had always talked about. There were countless late nights, failed recipes, and endless rounds of testing before Cheeky Chooks came to life.
From the chicken, to the sauces, to every small detail. We wanted to create something we were proud to serve. Cheeky Chooks is truly one of a kind, built with passion, persistence, and love!
It wasn’t always easy🥲 There were long days, sleepless nights, and more challenges than we could count.
However, the past three years have been the most rewarding journey of our lives.
Thank you, Whangarei! To everyone who has visited us, supported us, shared our food. We’ll continue listening to our customers, improving what we do, and sharing our food with more people across Northland.
