BEACH ROUNDABOUT TAKEAWAYS IS NOW PERMANENTLY CLOSED
It is with huge personal sadness that I now must advise all my loyal Beach Roundabout Takeaways (BRT) customers that BRT is permanently closed as a consequence of the flood damage to the rear of the premises which occurred back in May 2021. The flooding resulted from significant water leaks in an upstairs apartment with the water pouring into BRT through the ceiling. This situation has not been remedied, and I have now been informed by the landlords lawyer that they consider my premises to be ‘untenantable’ as a takeaway food operation and I must pack up my business and exit the property.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my wonderful customers for your support during my time owning and operating BRT. Your positive feedback and reviews, kind words and encouragement and patience has been amazing. You have given me the motivation and strength to keep going through the highs and the lows, and I want to thank you so much for your valued custom. I also wish to express my appreciation to those wonderful staff, particularly my awesome cooks Cheyne and James, who were there to help BRT succeed, and who have endured along with me the very difficult conditions and uncertainty since May 2021. I am absolutely devastated by the circumstances which have drastically cut short the BRT journey. This certainly is not the outcome which I had planned for BRT, but these unfortunate circumstances have been entirely beyond my control. The BRT premises have been operated as Fish and Chip businesses for well over 30 years, so sadly this is the end of an era for Whangamata.
