Gentle Annie - Cafe, Cleaning, Reception Duties
We’re looking for some more members of our crew for Summer 2026/2027, starting around mid-December. Gentle Annie Seaside Accommodation and Camping Ground is a family-run business located on the beautiful northern West Coast. Relaxed, friendly and helpful service is at the forefront of our business.
Tasks include:
Barista-level coffee-we pride ourselves on serving great locally roasted coffee. Barista experience would be favourable.
Serving homemade baked goods to guests in the Cowshed Coffee Shop.
General reception duties; checking in guests, taking payments, offering information, helping guests with any questions etc. Relaxed, friendly and helpful service is extremely important to us.
Cleaning, to a high standard, of the camping ground facilities, cabins and holiday homes.
We’re currently voted in the top 3 camping grounds in New Zealand, and have very positive reviews on Campermate, Tripadvisor, Facebook, Instagram, Google etc. We’re looking for someone to continue making Gentle Annie a traveller’s paradise.
Successful applicants must have; a valid NZ work visa, a positive attitude, be energetic (willing to work hard) have a good sense of humour, have fluent and clear english, a willingness to learn and work well with others. Relate well to all ethnicities and ages (our guests come from NZ and all over the world with a range of older people and children). Be honest and reliable.
Applicants must be able to provide their own accommodation (van, caravan, motorhome etc).

🚵‍♀️ 4 TRAILS 4 GOOD | AN ADVENTURE WITH A PURPOSE 💙
These holidays, our wonderful friends Lily Rossiter and Ana Irving are taking on an incredible challenge to give back to the community.
Together with their good friend Rio from Wānaka, Lily and Ana will bike 260km across four local trails, tackling around 6,000m of climbing over eight days.

🚵 Kawatiri Coastal Trail
Their 4 Trails 4 Good challenge is raising funds for Homebuilders West Coast Trust's Wishes in Westport fund, helping local rangatahi access experiences and opportunities they may otherwise miss out on.
Before the pedals have even started turning, they have already raised an amazing $2,915, with a goal of reaching $5,000 or more. 👏

The Kawatiri Nature Environment & Communities Trust is involved in some fantastic initiatives in the Buller region. One of them is creating walking and biking trails which will access a backcountry hut at Gentle Annie-ideal for young families looking for their first overnight adventure. There are some amazingly talented individuals involved in the project including the renowned track designer Hamish Seaton, local legend trail builder Nigel Williams and project lead Glenn Irving the force behind so much in the Buller. All 3 have been involved in the Kawatiri Coastal Trail, The Paparoa, and the Old Ghost Road so it’ll be exciting to see this project unfold. The Ma Earth fund is a unique way for the trust to gain from small donations by way of matching by the fund.
