‘Schnitzel Von Crumb’

WOAP 2026 Burger entry.

House ground 200g Beef patty with beef from Scotty's Meats in Martinborough, our homemade sauerkraut, homemade polish style beetroot Ćwikła, dill pickle mayo, Gruyère crisp on an Arobake poppy seed brioche burger bun, served with German potato salad (baby potatoes, bacon, parsley, olive oil, dried dill + vinegar)

The Visa Wellington On a Plate theme this year is ‘Word of Mouth’ - we opened Arcimboldi 8 years ago, and our Schnitzel has been on the menu since day one and has bought us a lot of our popularity through word of mouth. The last year we have also spent a lot of time reading Hairy Maclary to our baby boy, who loves Schnitzel von Krumm so we thought this was a fun way to tie it all together.

For the best and lightest scrambled eggs start them 6ft something in the air - following the same principles as making 'Teh Tarik' in Malaysia, whip the eggs hard with cream, add them to the pan from up as high as you can, so they absorb all the air on the way to the pan! Possibly not scientific... but we aren't scientists!

Growing up going to a cafe meant going to the Muffin Break in the Plaza in Palmerston North. Now i make over 150 muffins everyday, its funny how early life shapes us.

One of the top three most important meals of the day, possibly our favourite meal of the day... depends whats for lunch and dinner i guess!

Always the freshest produce and eggs from Dev at Capital Produce.
Fantastic breakfast meats, including their gold medal winning black pudding, from Scotty's Meats in Martinborough.
Sourdough bread from Arobake .
We only use Aoraki Salmon - it's by far the best smoked salmon available. Homemade hollandaise - no fake stuff from a packet, and no vinegar in our poaching pot, eggs that taste like eggs not vinegar!

CBD quality, suburban prices, just down the road from home!
